Cosmos Bit is an old school metroidvania that will take you in an extraterrestrial world painted with the legendary Amstrad CPC's colour palette, reworked for modern devices. The game is enjoyable for both veterans and newbies of this genre!

great game worth the play enjoy
SEEP really does a great job is paying homage to classic games but in their own way. This is a great tribute to the classic Metroid games on NES and SNES, but in a small 1 to 2 hour game. The pixel art and character sprites are great to look at, and the character moves nice and smooth. You do get a double-jump half way thru the game, but getting a dash mechanic would have also been nice. I also would have liked a little more variety in bullet types. But overall, I cant complain as it scratched my itch in terms of playing a classic Metroid game.
Definitely nailed the look, but also the mechanics, of a truly retro metroid-like video game from the 8-bit (or less) era. It even has certain parallels to 'Captain Comic' I'm sure aren't unintentional. My least favourite part of Super Mario were the castle stages, so if you haven't played yet took at that first trailer video and guess what section I'm currently frustratingly stuck on. Still, that's entirely on me, so not at all worth a vindictive down-vote.
This is a very chill metroidvania.
Jueguito corto y facil de platinar
Feels like this one misses the mark just a tiny bit. I still enjoyed it, but it's not exactly the kind of thing I'd go out of my way to play now that I've beat it. It does everything okay, but it's hard to point to anything exceptional or interesting that it did. Still, for 75 cents on sale, it was a good time and a fair amount of fun.
В меру сложная, интересная.
6/10
Cosmos Bit is really short, really easy, and does nothing particularly new or interesting, but it's decent fun for 1 - 1 1/2 hours, particularly if you pick it up on sale for pocket change. The pixel art is simple but appealing, with decent-looking environments and enemies (much of which seems Metroid-inspired). The music track in the last level is quite the banger. The controls work well for the most part, but I noticed that your double-jump does not trigger if you are holding up on the control pad, which was a mild annoyance. What makes this game at least a little different than countless other Metroidvanias is that enemies don't drop anything on defeat, so there is no benefit to defeating them besides clearing your path (there is a counter of how many you've killed, but it is meaningless). Instead, destroying boulders can lead to them dropping blue, yellow or pink gems. You use these gems at save points to save your game or upgrade your player (extending your life bar, increasing maximum bomb capacity and the like). Apart from upgrading your regular firepower and getting a double jump, the powers you acquire are not terribly useful. Your bombs open a couple of passages and are useful for bosses, and I barely used the charge attack at all. There are no secrets or hidden areas, and despite being a Metroidvania it plays out very linearly. Still, as a fan of simple, pixel art Metroidvanias I did enjoy my playthrough of Cosmos Bit, and it was easily worth the pittance I paid for it.
