Non Vegan Recipe
I was searching the store for the non-violent game about the witch in the woods who cooks vegan potions. I found this instead. Whilst not what I was originally looking for, it's a good.casual game to kill a little bit of time, and a large number of children. gameplay is very simple but fluid, and overall it's great fun. Good use of classical music as background tracks.

Cooking Witch, developed and published by VaragtP, is an unapologetically bizarre arcade-style action game that leans heavily into absurd dark humor and simple, fast-paced mechanics. Released as a low-cost indie title, it quickly built a niche following thanks to its outrageous premise and straightforward gameplay loop. Rather than aiming for narrative depth or mechanical complexity, the game embraces shock value and repetition as its defining characteristics, delivering a deliberately over-the-top experience that feels closer to an old-school score-chasing arcade game than a modern narrative-driven title. The core concept is intentionally absurd. Players control a witch flying on her broomstick, whose primary objective is to capture targets scattered across the map and return them to her cauldron. The loop is simple: swoop down, grab, carry, and drop. Early stages ease players into the mechanics, but as sessions progress, the difficulty escalates with larger crowds, time pressure, and the introduction of armed adversaries. These enemies force players to maneuver more carefully, adding moments of chaos and urgency to what would otherwise be a straightforward collection mechanic. Gameplay relies almost entirely on mouse-based controls, making it immediately accessible. The witch’s movement is smooth and responsive, encouraging quick directional shifts and daring dives into groups before escaping to safety. The simplicity of the control scheme ensures that players can focus entirely on positioning and timing. There are light progression elements in the form of upgrades purchased with accumulated resources, improving speed, stamina, and efficiency. While these upgrades provide incremental advantages, they do not drastically alter the core loop, which remains consistent throughout. Visually, the game uses a bright, cartoonish aesthetic that contrasts sharply with its macabre premise. Characters are stylized and exaggerated, and environments are colorful and minimalistic. This playful presentation softens the darker humor, framing it as absurd rather than genuinely disturbing. Animations are simple but effective, ensuring that on-screen action remains readable even when multiple characters and projectiles are present. The overall art direction reinforces the arcade tone, prioritizing clarity and exaggerated expression over detail. One of the title’s strengths lies in its pick-up-and-play nature. Sessions are short, objectives are clear, and the learning curve is minimal. It works well as a quick distraction rather than a long-form commitment. Steam leaderboards and achievements add a competitive layer, motivating players to refine strategies and chase higher scores. However, the game’s limited variety can become apparent over extended play. Environments and objectives do not evolve significantly, and once upgrades are unlocked, the primary motivation becomes pure score optimization. Ultimately, the game thrives on its outrageous concept and arcade simplicity. It does not attempt to offer deep storytelling, complex systems, or varied gameplay modes. Instead, it focuses on delivering fast, chaotic action wrapped in a deliberately absurd theme. For players who enjoy unconventional indie experiments and quick, replayable score-based challenges, it provides a memorable and eccentric experience. For those seeking depth or long-term progression, its repetitive structure may limit lasting appeal, but within its intended scope, it successfully delivers a quirky and unapologetic arcade diversion. The only VaragtP game that I'm leaving a negative review on. I'm glad a lot of people like it, but I found it incredibly tedious. There are plenty negative reviews that go into a little more detail, so I won't type a big paragraph.
It's a simple, funny, and fun game. It's a little short, but this is a plus for this type of game.
