Don't know why this game has mixed reviews besides possibly paid bots from Ghost of Tabor (the other rival VR extraction shooter) and as someone with over 1,000 hours in both? This game is the clear winner in every aspect. Only negative points I can give this game are the fact that it's more colorful than tabor and tarkov, but that's preference, and the fact that people find ways to dupe, but thats a problem on tabor, dayz, and almost every game so i cant really hate on these guys too much, people (people being ghost of tabor devs) wanna call this company the "temu tabor" but it just so happens to beat them on every front. I stopped playing tabor shortly after the exfil version for this game released thinking to myself "well i like tabor too, ill go back to that when they get their stuff together," that was a couple years ago and let me tell you right now. They NEVER got their stuff together, any new updates from GoT only were uninspired shameless rushed updates that tried copying this game, such as a whole new healing system, suturing kits, safe boxes (which if you die with it in your hand in tabor you can not get it back and it's gone for wipe, tough luck and that's unheard of in any extraction game), and GoT had an update in august for a fresh wipe and the first month of that wipe the AI just stood still so any GoT nerds farmed the hell out of bosses. GoT only focuses on releasing DLC mostly which i dont care about because i bought some $30 edition of the game that gives me all the DLC for free and i honestly could care less. Not only are their updates nothing but their DLC is trash, Contractors Exfilzone actually release updates to be very hype about, the most recent tabor update game 3 new things, a drum mag for the as-val/Vss (an op gun that was previously limited by its mag size but now they gave it a drum mag for no reason), a drum mag for the .22 luger (idk man), and an FAL with rails or some crap (an upgraded version of some crap they already had). Not to mention ghost of tabor just feels so clunky and badly optimized, after playing this "temu tabor" i was instantly hooked, Caveman studios go it going on man. I have such a hard time trying to get back into tabor again no matter the circumstance.
i've been playing exfilzone since it came out here and there, what i like about this game is mostly the varieties of goodies you can find, a bunch of junk items to upgrade your bunker, a bunch of valuable to sell or collect, a bunch of weapons and parts to mod them. all those are good aspect of the game in my opinion. but since the pve update , what i absolutely HATE about this game is when you kill an npc and he has an armour or helmet you'd want, 9/10 times they are almost ruined already, like 0/17 durability, so you cant repair them , absolutely worth NOTHING, same for the bosses. i'll kill a boss and take a look at his gear and guess what, it's ruined.... i've been playing pve since the update to max traders level and unlock everything , so gears is not the issue... what i despise tho is that even though their gears are almost always ruined they tank bullets as if i'm freaking shooting nerf dart at them, even with ap rounds... take a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ page of tarkov book will ya ! in tarkov sure the game is freaking hard but never you feel like the npcs or ai are cheating ! pvp or pve , you can loot the bodies and take their armour if its better than what you have, and never happened to get ruined gear in my experience. also you can loot MAGS from npc. in exfilzone npcs have unlimited ammo and when you kill them their guns are almost always empty or half full. no spare mags dropped.. this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to me... i also bought the dlc for the revolver and quest line , i've reach the task to go to the metro to collect the "virus sample" and it tells me to drop it at the "designated area" .. WHERE THE HELL IS IT ?? lol .. the instructions are to vague, i dont know very well the metro map , havent played it much, and you cant use your map inside the raid.. so just tell me some clues of the whereabout of the "designated area" i hate to try for a quest and having to roam around the entire map just to guess where im supposed to go.. i also hate the dialogues of the scavs, always screaming "take cover" or ♥♥♥♥ like " i smell danger" , "here they are" etc... its fine when done correctly but they litteraly just wont shut up for a second. makes my ears hurts xd... so annoying so my verdict is , its an "ok" game in the end, but beware of the ai that is constantly cheating and tank ammo like i've never seen any cheaters do before and drop ♥♥♥♥ for loot.. 5/10
The game is unplayable for me. I have attempted to troubleshoot technical issues with this game for some time now. I've tried different VR headsets (Pimax, HTC Vive, and Meta Quest 3) each with a fresh installation of windows and it still fails to launch correctly. I even tried different PCs, an Nvdia system and an AMD system. I cannot get the game to launch at all in VR. Not even the community members can help me solve the issue. I've given up on this game entirely. Edit: I did solve the issue. It was due to having two GPUs in the same system. I fixed it by removing the second card. I couldn't find a way to force the game to choose a specific card and Nvdia's control panel doesn't recognize the game.
It is unfathomable to me that this game has mixed reviews... From the reviews I've read, it sounds like most people just can't face the game difficulty, as most people complain about AI being too spongy or getting murked by players in high level gear. Like bro, just get good is all I can say. Yes, when using low level ammo players and AI alike can feel spongy, but coming from Tarkov this is nothing new to me. My advice? Go leg meta. Another complaint I've seen is that this game is pay to win because of the DLCs. This is false as the in-game tasks give you plenty of loot for completing them. If you are struggling with the game mechanics, join the discord as there are many maxed out players that would love to help you learn the ropes. If you love Tarkov, you will love this game no doubt. It is essentially a Tarkov clone in VR. Not to mention, it comes with battle royale too! Though the servers for BR are quite empty, it is a good place to practice your aim with the many guns available in this game. The VR mechanics feel fluid. The game progression is rewarding if not a bit grindy (similar to Tarkov). Not to mention, there is a detailed gunsmithing mechanic to build your dream weapon! Combat is tactical and your game sense is just as important as the gear you bring into raid. Even an intimidating behemoth in boss armor can be taken down with a few well placed shots to the legs or arms. There is a PVE mode I have yet to try, but PVPVE is a blast with friends. I would advise against soloing, as PVP will be a great challenge in the early-mid game. Play with people from discord if your friends don't play vr! Lastly I have to give praise to the developers. From what I've seen, they are interactive and listen to the community, update frequently (about every 3 months), and are generous with the amount of content you get for the price. 10/10 this game is like a second life
The game is fun but it runs terribly for me despite being above the recommended specs and running it with as low graphic fidelity as possible, enemies are mere pixels at like 40metres but yet it performs worse than any other vr game ive played. And the main reason im writing this review is because of the new dlc "broken contract" which at the time of typing costs more than the actual game and paywalls a new pistol, despite there only being 3 pistols in the game, the 4th one has to cost €20.49, this is a very poor precident to set and if i could refund i would.
I will change this to positive after you bring back the sorting for junk boxes!
Games is awsome, much better than Tabor. Better graphics, better hideout upgrades, and overall just better gameplay. It is a little laggy at times but still a great game.
Game does not work on a quest 3, controls are completely unresponsive on startup, I can't even pick a language. Apparently this has been an issue for over a year and the devs are unresponsive about it.

PVE CONTENT IS BLOCKED BEHIND A DLC !! the leader of your team HAVE TO BUY the fireteam elite DLC so you guys can play together ! This is inacceptable greedy behaviour, never buy this game, even with a massive discount.
