This was a fun game at launch, but is getting worse and worse to play, The devs are constantly make changes to go with their pay for DLC which makes the base game worse and has just sapped the fun out of the game to the point of unplayability. Despite this being a series I have owned and enjoyed since the first game, it is now getting uninstalled until such time as its becomes fun to play again...

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I loved COH1 and still play it with my own custom made mods. Didn't like COH2 and COH3 as they got greedier since the original THQ team gave up the ghost. These prices in Australia are ridiculous when I can have the same fun in one I already own and mod to my hearts content. I briefly tried this version and found the pay walls for things ive already experienced in COH1. Greedy publishers need to be punished.
Sad to see a great series being ruined by greed and incompetence, better battlegroups hidden behind a paywall and imo expensive AF for just 1 for each or not even that at times. On top of that now with the Final Stand, asking 29,99 is just absolutely insane greed for just a different mode if you think about it. Congratulations relic, you suck.
Don’t even waste your time with multiplayer in this game. The way new battlegroups are sold feels predatory, with a lot of them coming across as cash grabs rather than meaningful additions. In 3v3 and 4v4, I’ve found the balance to heavily favor the German side, especially when you’re playing with random teammates. Unless you have good coordination with your team or are playing with friends, Allied games can be a real struggle. Personally, I usually play Allies for the added difficulty. German players have plenty of ways to make the late game miserable. You’ll see Marders, StuGs, bunker spam, and eventually Tigers, Elefants, and heavy Panthers. Once the late game kicks in, good luck. There are also maps with so many buildings and obstacles that Allied AT can have a hard time finding good positions to deal with the heavy German tanks. If you’re playing Allies, it feels like you have to finish the game early just to avoid dealing with the late-game German armor. If you don’t, good luck trying to climb the ranks in 3v3 or 4v4. Maybe it’s a skill issue on my end, or maybe that’s just how the game plays out, but that has been my experience. And honestly, that’s what makes it frustrating, because I actually love 3v3 and 4v4. I like the team aspect, the chaos, and having to work together with other players. I’ll keep playing these modes because I enjoy them, but I really wish the balance and overall multiplayer experience were better. There are plenty of other great RTS/RTT games out there that don’t lean as heavily into the arcade-style gameplay, such as Gates of Hell: Ostfront, WARNO, Sudden Strike, and many others. Now, that's my rant. Peace.

Game is not new player friendly, the community is toxic as hell if you're new, the matchmaking seem to think because you just picked up the game that you could compete against high level players for some reason.. The German campaign was alright but my god the other one really takes the mick.. A turn based slog of mostly just waiting, tedious little crap that you gotta deal with otherwise it's gonna make that campaign last forever.. and believe me it'll drag.. Honestly don't understand how they expected new players to really even step foot into this game.. But Axis matchmaking seems to be way higher then Allies so good luck with that if you still play this what feels like a slowly dying game at this point if this is the direction we're heading. With new players not being able to get in and what seems like veterans having their own issues with the balancing and the insane prices for the dlc.. HOLY! With some even having insane power over if you don't get the dlc.. Really disappointing.
NEED FACTION FOR FRANCE ITALY AND RUSSIA
After 133 hours of gameplay, I can confidently say I've gotten my money's worth and experienced most of what the game has to offer as a casual RTS player. I generally only play one to two hours a day. While I've enjoyed many aspects of the game, I wouldn't recommend it to most of my friends in its current state. Pros: - The graphics are fantastic. Watching infantry engage each other, artillery land, and tanks roll onto the battlefield feels immersive and cinematic. - The sound design is one of the game's strongest points. Voice acting, explosions, weapon sounds, and ambient battlefield audio do a great job of making engagements feel impactful. - I really like the concept of Battle Groups and how they can change your playstyle depending on the situation. - The campaign progression system felt rewarding. Unlocking unique perks for each Battle Group gave me a sense of growth and experimentation. - 4v4 multiplayer is surprisingly fun as a casual player. Holding a lane, assisting teammates, and disrupting enemy resource points creates some memorable moments. Cons: - After 133 hours, I've only accumulated roughly 8,000 Merit, while unlocking a single Battle Group requires 15,000. For casual players, that's an enormous time investment unless you're willing to spend an additional $20-40 on DLC. I personally feel there should be more opportunities to earn Merit or alternative ways to unlock Battle Groups through gameplay. - Light tanks, particularly the Stuart, take a long time to clear infantry garrisoned inside buildings. In several matches, I felt punished for making what I thought was the correct counterplay because of the amount of time and resources required to remove a single defensive position. Personally, I would like to see the time required reduced so that light tanks feel like a more reliable answer to entrenched infantry. - Some of the larger maps feel like they take 3-5 business days for my units to get back into the fight. Losing an engagement often means spending a significant amount of time simply repositioning your army before you can make meaningful decisions again. - Infantry blobbing isn't enjoyable for me personally. One of the reasons I enjoy RTS games is positioning, cover usage, and tactical decision-making. When large infantry blobs become the most effective strategy, the gameplay starts to feel more like a MOBA than a traditional RTS experience. How it affected my Experience - I feel discouraged from experimenting with new Battle Groups because of the time investment required to unlock them. - I feel limited to playing the same three Battle Groups repeatedly because unlocking additional content takes such a long time. - Multiplayer progression feels lacking for me personally. Outside of improving my own skill level, there isn't much that keeps me feeling rewarded or working toward something meaningful as a casual player. - I feel that some multiplayer matches gradually shift away from the tactical RTS experience I enjoy and become more focused on infantry blobs and meta strategies, which makes the game feel more MOBA-like to me. Who Might Enjoy this game: - Players who enjoy investing hundreds of hours into mastering a single RTS. - Players who enjoy long-term progression and grinding unlocks. - Players who like learning and adapting to the current multiplayer meta. - Competitive RTS players who don't mind spending additional money on DLC Battle Groups. Overall, Company of Heroes 3 has a lot going for it. The visuals, sound design, campaign progression, and large-scale 4v4 battles are genuinely enjoyable. I don't regret the 133 hours I've put into the game, and I've certainly gotten my money's worth. However, as a casual RTS player, the grind for unlockables, pacing issues on larger maps, and multiplayer gameplay trends make it difficult for me to recommend to most of my friends. If you're a hardcore RTS fan who enjoys investing significant time into mastering the game and its meta, you'll probably have a great time. If you're a more casual player looking for steady progression and gameplay variety, your experience may be very different.
