Command: Modern Operations is the next generation in cross-domain modern wargaming. It enables you to simulate every military engagement from post World War II to the present day and beyond. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic scale operations are also possible.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

ONE OF THE BEST GAME ! This is super cool simulator! I like it ! WARNING!: its very complex
So, I did try out this sim since according to reviews, some YouTubers and the manual itself, this was supposed to be the most realistic simulator that is acting upon the tactical, operational and strategic level. I'm afraid that it is only highly accurate, detailed, realistic and useful (mind that last word) in the tactical domain because of following reason: It only simulates capabilities of platforms and then bunches them up together under the pretext of operational art since the US Army applies a very rigid and robotic, devoid of emotion - interpretation of the Soviet definition of Operational Art, which is defined as the level where large scale tactics are employed. That is all and ever what the US Army would do, tactics, i.e. it does not concern itself with the conduct of war, rather than the preparation for war (Clausewitz) The only thing you basically do is move highly detailed units around. And that would be the field of tactics, rather than strategy. Consider C:MO a simulator of the executive branch of an already devised plan, therefore tactics, not strategy/operational art. I.e., one could assume the rank of Colonel in this game rather than that one of a Theatre Commander and his component Commanders. Note that both the Russian Army and the US Army are different since it is the Russian Army that is assuming the role of the USAF, being the major strategic force and therefore concerned with strategy. The US Army in this case is a follow-on force of the USAF and is therefore not concerned with strategy, but with tactics in support of the Air Campaign. Best you read Desert Storm to see my point. You probably wonder why I put this here. Merely making my point upon the thinking of the devs behind this sim. If you actually want strategy/operational art in a sim that entails modern combat, play Falcon BMS (don't even fly, just use the 2D map) where the targeteering does matter, where the targets have relations to each other (IMPERATIVE), where all branches of the military are used, where the effects of your bombardements and actions are actually being measured in levels of morale as you would see in things like Command Ops 2. Here, strategic thinking is actually a thing and does not entail the exhausting tactical details, procedures, etc... It has for example an ATO, but one you don't have to create, but one you use. It is all about the use of capabilities than actually just micromanaging and moving them around in the deepest detail. Strategy is not necessarily a "difficult" business since it concerns military philosophy, rather than knowing every TTP and capability by heart. But the grand plan is devised according to these capabilities but concerns other details that far surpass tactical affairs; largely political, cultural, economic, moral, doctrine, technical matters. Who should buy it? - People with an interest in technology and creating scenario's that would allow them to see how it works since it does form an eye opener to people curious how modern tech works since it does simulate that like no one else does. It derives data from AirPowerAustralia whom have been the main source on Russian IADS, but it does simulate it in a 24/7 100% operational state-sense. Who shouldn't buy it - People with a genuine interest in modern strategy, devising plans to achieve effects according to those capabilities throughout the entire realm that concerns the conduct of war. To me personally, it has been a 50/50 waste of money due the bigger hopes I had of this game. It does however, as stated, provide technical and tactical insight in certain systems that could be useful for better comprehension if you are busy with such things. But overall, they should drop the "Operational" from their marketing and merely focus on the tactical aspect. Key note: I generally use "Strategy" to describe the "Operational Level" due a preference and also because that level does not exist to me. Edit: Also games as Graviteam Tactics do encompass the aforementioned arguments upon war.
I love reading a manual for a game!
어렵다... 이건 진짜로 게임을 '공부'해야함 지금 뭔가 벽하나만 넘으면 재밌게 할것 같은데 그걸 못넘는 상황임
Some of the interface can be a bear, but once you get used to the key commands you use most often and get the map settings where you want them, it's very manageable. And you can't beat the database -- really just a "what if?" engine for a century of warfare.
