Command: Modern Operations is the next generation in cross-domain modern wargaming. It enables you to simulate every military engagement from post World War II to the present day and beyond. The scale is primarily tactical/operational, although strategic scale operations are also possible.

Not as intimidating as it looks. They've even got little ship and airplane counters if you don't like the NATO Symbology.
Pleases my uber autism
I'm still just on the third mission of Falkland campaign, and in my 8 hours I barely scratched the surface of this piece of software. However this is the game I was always looking for and wanted. The great sandbox and ability to recreate any scenario post WW2 to modern times and near future is just staggering. What it lacks on visuals, gains in depth. I would like to say to anyone that this game isn't that over-complicated and hard as it looks from the trailer and screenshots. In my 8 hours after watching few youtube videos of others playing, I'm able to have fun and enjoy it while catching up.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It itches my brain in the right way
I don't know how much more effort I can put into this game just to learn the basics. After sixteen hours and going through tutorials more than once I still have not been able to play this the way I would like to and still have no idea how to use most of the functions. It is not for the casual gamer and for me is overly complicated and cluttered. It is so easy to mess up either by hitting a key you didn't mean to hit or not clicking on something you should have clicked on when preparing a mission. If you have hours upon hours of time to spare to learn an extremely complicated system then this game is for you. Honestly, I would not call this a game, it is a learning tool for people who are in the military and are involved in war planning. I think I'll wait for Harpoon to come out, that was very simple and much easier to learn and play.
It's a cool idea, but it requires you to spend an extra $70 dollars on top of the outrageous base price in order to use the 3D view.
Good encyclopedia, Horrible UI.
Nice software-based military simulator game! However, it has a limited amount of gameplay because of limited scenarios (although there are plenty of scenarios and you can make one if you can) and the gameplay itself is more like a "problem-solving" strategy-which every attempt will be the same as the previous rather than a randomized strategy, like RTS game where every attempt is different. Nevertheless, the simulation itself is stunning, challenging, and beautiful. Very detailed data, makes every scenario feel immersive just like in real warfare where you control all weapons across the region. Summary Pros : -Very detailed, immersive, and cool -Step-by-step tutorials make everything understandable -Plenty of data you can access not only to help you in-game but also to enrich your knowledge about the military -Cool scenarios almost perfectly reflected the real-world modern warfare -Lots of units, weapons, and systems at our disposal, each with its specifications. -Every attempt feels so real -Many tools to help you with planning, even for a single salvo -Most important: great gameplay, great simulation, great software Neutral: -Pretty good DLC (optional) -Music is fine -No need for Tacview (optional) -Nice looking maps Cons: -Steep learning curve, but that's okay -Limited gameplay, which means there are no "what-ifs" just like most of the strategy games. -The price is a way too high (wait for sale if you want) -Some bugs Overall, 9/10 Approved

This is an extremely niche game that appeals to armchair generals interested Air and Naval warfare operational simulation down to details like choosing AIM-120A versus AIM-120D missiles. After some youtube tutorials, it is fairly easy to play through most of the many included or user created scenarios using missions to avoid micromanaging every aspect of every vehicle. At the same time, you can override just about anything and micromanage to your heart's delight if that is your thing. With only 67 hours played I am still a very much a novice to the game. That said, I enjoy the game especially the naval aspects. I didn't like air to air combat combat until the update this week, but it feels great now so far.
