SHADY BEHAVIOR Suspicious Network Activity Detected – Game Tries to Connect to Blacklisted Domain Hi everyone, I want to share a serious issue I encountered while playing Storage Hunter Simulator. During gameplay, my antivirus (ESET) blocked multiple attempts by the game’s executable StorageHunter-Win64-Shipping.exe to connect to the domain of 1xbet — which is flagged as a PUA/blacklisted gambling website. This happened without any action from me. I wasn’t clicking links, opening any menus, or triggering anything that could explain such a connection attempt. It came directly from the running game. Here are the relevant details from the antivirus log (personal data removed): URL: Domain removed to avoid deletion of the post but its 1xbet - a betting / gambling website Event: PUA-Blacklist Status: Blocked URL Application: steamapps/common/Storage Hunter/StorageHunter/Binaries/Win64/StorageHunter-Win64-Shipping.exe Hash: 832218AB46AAE58249787655FF1D2655D25309FB This is extremely concerning. A single-player game should never contact a shady gambling site in the background. Even if this were accidental or caused by a third-party asset, it needs to be addressed immediately. I have already reported the game to Steam for further investigation and applied for a refund and I strongly recommend other users check their own antivirus logs as well. Game was enjoyable... 'til I heard about background attempt to connect to 1xbet website, a PUA/Blacklisted website. Ain't no freaking reason of any sort to have this in the game's code.
I loved playing this game until the update that made far less items spawn in storage lockers which makes it very difficult to even break even on them, much less get a profit going. I was eagerly checking in every few weeks hoping for an update that would correct this issue when I saw something disturbing. The discussion forums mentioned that the single player game was attempting to connect to a shady gambling website repeatedly while playing. The dev commented that this was "fixed" in a patch with no elaboration. I am concerned enough that they released a build of the game that was attempting that (with or without their knowledge) but people report that it is still happening on the updated patch. Really fun game that seems like it is doing some really shady stuff and the developers seem to have mostly abandoned. Real shame that it went down this way.
Marketing "1.0" does not make a game finished. I am writing this because I want to love this game, but the "Full Release" tag is currently a misrepresentation of the product. When a game leaves Early Access, there is a consumer expectation of stability and polish. Unfortunately, Storage Hunter Simulator currently has more reported bugs than many games still in Alpha or Beta. The Data: The official bug report thread is nearly 700 posts deep. We are seeing game-breaking physics, vanishing items, and core loops that simply fail. While I acknowledge the developers are active and pushing frequent patches, they are essentially trying to fix the foundation of a house while selling it as "move-in ready." The Industry Comparison: Comparing the level of reported bugs here against other 1.0 releases on Steam shows a significant gap in standards. Developer effort is visible, but effort does not replace functionality. A consumer should not be cast as a "Beta Tester" for a game advertised as a fully functional, finished product. Verdict: Great concept and a hardworking team, but the execution of this 1.0 launch was premature. I cannot recommend this to anyone expecting a stable experience until the "Full Release" label actually matches the state of the game. A Special Note on Multiplayer: If you are purchasing this specifically for the co-op experience, be extremely cautious. The multiplayer mode currently suffers from the worst of these issues: Physics Desync: Vehicles and loot frequently fly into the void or glitch through floors. Progress Loss: Frequent item-vanishing bugs and save-sync issues can wipe out hours of progress with friends. Technical Instability: The co-op loop is significantly less stable than the single-player experience. Man there is only so many times I can buy a bunch of boxes and not ever be able to open them. Multiplayer is like paying for the chance to play as a NPC. The price is way to high for the experience.
TL;DR - Progression is painfully slow, travel and game time can be frustrating, and there are significant QoLs that should've been included, all of which negatively impact the game. Maybe worth buying on sale or after some updates. The premise is kinda fun, but man there are so many things wrong with this game - Pros * Fun concept * Huge list of things to find * Now with collectors for cool bonuses Cons * Progression is abysmal at best * In-game time is too fast * Vehicles are too slow * Value of items is too low * Price of upgrades is too high * Auctions (especially high-tier ones with lots of bidding) take too much game time to give you time to load/unload/get to the next auction * Everything is too spread out for the game time to be this fast * Storage units are full of huge bulky items that take forever to play Tetris with * Physics are hilariously bad, and your truck bed or box of small items can randomly explode and send everything into orbit, potentially never to be seen again * You have to guess the type of item when storing at a pawn shop - is that candlestick a household item or art item? Put it in storage to see and if not, remember to pick it up off the ground if you take it back out (because it won't just drop back in your vehicle). Overall a fun game but the progression makes it a slog. Maybe worth buying on sale.

Сама тематика игры очень интересная, но к сожалению ни одна игра про аукционы не смогла сделать что-то поистине неповторимое и максимально интересно. Думал игра мне понравиться и по началу всё к этому шло, пока я не поиграл чуть больше. Игра мне напомнила инжир. На первый взгляд ты не жалеешь о покупке и с радостью покупаешь каждый аукцион, но стоит зайти чуть дальше - и ты понимаешь весь вкус багов, мертвого геймплея, бесполезных механик и т.д. А теперь стоит поговорить о составляющих игры. Графика в игре плохая, Саунды в игре плохие... Техническое исполнение конечно ужасно, но может всё-таки есть в игре что-то хорошее... Спойлер: нет. Что техническое исполнение, что остальные составляющие ужасны. Окружающий мир возможно лучший аспект игры, но тоже далеко не дошёл. Сюжет? Кроме ужасных заданий здесь ничего нет. Геймплей? Возможно он мог быть лучше, если бы не тонна бесполезных механик и других факторов. В игре очень много багов, которые разработчики пытались фиксить, но от них уже давно нет новостей и скорее всего они забросили игру, поняв, что не вывезут сделать нормальный проект. В игре есть парк развлечений сделанный настолько ужасно, насколько вообще возможно. Все мини-игры ужасны и сделаны даже неизвестно для чего, не думаю, что в них хоть кто-то играет. Задания в игре ужасны. На одном нам нужно улучшить инструменты и почти сразу нам дают задание на 50 уровень в 3 регионах, что займёт очень много времени. Уже по этому понятно, что игра является сплошным гриндом без какой-либо нормальной цели и продвижения. Говоря про продвижение, начиная хоть с самого начала в мире мы можем найти очень много спрятанных предметов и если потратить немного времени, чтобы забрать самые дорогие предметы, то это уже ломает прогрессию. Говоря еще больше про прогрессию...Какой собственно смысл играть после покупки инструментов, дома и машины? Даже можно обойтись без дома, они здесь абсолютно не нужны, как и большинство машин. В игре больше 10 машин, а использовать мы будем максимум 3, считая начальную. Машины... Одна из самых главных вещей в игре, которой мы будем пользоваться абсолютно каждый раз, когда захотим куда-то добраться и завести предметы с аукциона, но присутствует очень большой минус. Я не знаю в какой игре машины сделаны ещё хуже... Нет, правда, я действительно не играл в игры с худшей физикой машин, чем здесь. Физика предметов не лучше, твои предметы могут буквально улететь в космос или упасть под текстуры, а ещё ты можешь летать на них, как в GM. Единственный плюс, который меня радует, это огромной количество предметов, которые мы всё-равно не увидим скорее всего даже за 60+ часов. Хочу рассказать ещё про сложность самой игры. У нас есть выбор из 3 сложностей и в самом начале я выбрал сложный режим, думая, что будет более интересно и мне придется думать "стоит ли мне брать этот контейнер". Однако, такого я не нашёл, я ушёл в минус лишь несколько раз, когда ещё не было своего ломбарда, но после покупки ломбарда шанс проиграть становиться нулевым и весь смысл в сложности пропадает, хоть его считай и не было изначально. Great for two hours, then it's a ghost town. Storage Hunter Simulator has a fantastic hook, but the mid-and-late game are completely hollow and lack any sense of real progression. Once you've seen the basic item sets, the game becomes an endless, grind that values your time less and less. Without a deeper reason to keep bidding or a way to actually grow your "empire" in a meaningful way, it quickly transforms from a fun simulator into a repetitive, boring chore.
The good: - Storage Wars on your PC - Lots of interesting items - Engaging progression - The thrill of finding rare/high-value items is genuinely addictive - Despite all the negatives, it really scratches the itch for Storage Wars treasuing-hunting The bad: - Having in mind that a big part of the gameplay is driving, the handling of vehicles is God awful - Progress is extremely slow - Loading your truck with the items is becoming annoying pretty fast - Haggle mechanics are explained, but seems they are not working, or at least I couldn't figure out how to trigger it. - The radio doesn't feel like a radio, but more like MP3 player... - Gameplay becomes repetitive pretty quickly - Too much time spent moving items around manually. Could really use quality-of-life features like auto-loading or better sorting. - The traders are super annoying... I would have recommended this game if bugs weren't as annoying as they are. This game had real potential and is rather addicting especially bidding on storage lockers just like the show Storage Wars but the sad reality is, this game is literally littered with bugs which basically becomes a major annoyance after awhile leading you wanting to quit the game entirely. When you first start out in the game, you're given a certain amount of money to start bidding on storage units and lockers where you can sell to a pawnshop, overtime you can sell at this pawnshop to make some extra cash until you can eventually afford to buy the pawnshop and sell things at double the market value. Eventually you can work your way up the corporate ladder and own all the pawnshops on the map and eventually a mansion in due time. This is what leads too it being addicting and quite fun. The core principal of the game is perfect and nothing is overly flawed but as you progress this is where you start noticing a decline in the gameplay itself especially as you gain more money and work through level progression, you'll start to get more chests, when opening these chests, they are super top heavy too a point it flips over and ends up throwing your items all over the place even at times throwing them into the air. Another issue that is super present which as you eventually get enough money, you can start doing blind auctions but the problem with blind auctions is the fact that these boxes are super glitched, after times these boxes will have items that are bunched together and not properly secured inside the box causing the box to explode and items flying all over the place which let's also not forget that some of these items are so bugged that you can't actually physically pick them up. This is more present in co-op then in solo. Another issue in co-op is the fact that when doing storage auctions, you approach the auction and end up not being able to bid on the storage locker but instead your able to view the locker and be stuck in the viewing mode until the NPC's start bidding and after the auction ends. You actually end up FROZEN in place and not being able to press any buttons nor try too use the escape button to bring up the pop up menu to hit the unstuck button. You physically have to do ctrl, alt and delete to bring up the task manager to forceably close the game unless the host of the game itself ends their save file to bring you back into the title screen then re-enter the game. This is actually a game breaking bug which would leave you frustrated and not wanting to play this game. Another bug is the fact that trucks don't actually properly secure all the items which sometimes creates a major issue when navigating the NPC traffic which is rather aggressive. If the NPC bumps into your truck and you have a full load which not all items are secured, it'll send all your items flying out of the truck often times sending these items across the map and into places that you can't even reach rendering these items useless and leads to loss of profit. Another issue is the fact that this game randomly crashes at certain points and will leave you with a popup that says fatal error but does not give an error code or as to why the game crashed. This happens randomly at best and nor is there a workaround or a specific point this happens. Further more it honestly appears this game has gone abandoned by the devs. Basing off the chatter within both discord servers from BeardedBrotherGames/Raccoons Studio and the Publisher Astragon Entertainment, plenty of people are asking for answers but both the devs and publishers are sitting in silence. I have to wonder why? this game could be a perfect hit but instead they are nothing more like other game devs who abandon their games. We all remember the time when games were released on Disk from PC to Console, they were all in a finished state with all the bugs ironed out and all we had to do was simply, install and play but now games are pushed to market way too soon and this is the result we see. Consumers are constantly getting robbed out of their money in exchange for broken games, when will this industry change? When will gamers finally wake up and stop praising devs for releasing broken games and actually speak up to make a change! All I know is we consumers are just constantly being overly promised on games that devs can't deliver. The point of this review is to make others aware that to buy this game at your own risk cause without anymore updates, this game will eventually become unplayable. I highly wouldn't recommend this game in it's current state nor would I recommend supporting these devs and publisher cause until they wake up and fix this game, they shouldn't get another cent of money. I've been so torn about this game and really wanted to like it more than I do. The core concept is solid, the process of stacking everything on top of your car is hilarious, and the overall vibes are on point (especially the music!). However, the game is painfully slow in so many ways. You earn money so slowly that the high prices of the upgrades and vehicles result in you grinding for hours to get anywhere. I understand the game needs to give the player progression goals, but the kind of player that will stick with a simulation game is generally more interested in getting everything unlocked so they can live out the fantasy completely. There is also far too much downtime between auctions thanks mostly to the combination of a huge map and vehicles move incredibly slowly. When the game says my little truck is going 104km/h it feels closer to 50-60km/h at best. There are many quality of life improvements that need to be implemented too - for example, you pick an auction from the your tablet and a location marker appears in the world, but not your map. When you open your map to set the GPS to the specific auction site, you then realise that the game doesn't actually let you check the names of each auction site on the map at all. Essentially, you have to drive blind to each auction site the first time then memorise which is which in order to be able to manually set pin on the GPS in the future. From what I've seen the devs are still updating the game, but the updates are rolling out slowly and seem to be very minor in nature. I'm not convinced they intend to make the sweeping changes that would make this game a classic big hitter in the simulation genre.
