Cannot save game. DOSBox does not map the file system correctly.
One of these very old games, which still are fun.
This game is 30 years old but still excellent. i remember buying it shortly after it came out and just being amazed at how fun it was. Even 30 years later, I'm playing it and enjoying it. There is a lot to like including a general lack of luck. Typically things will go as you would expect-- tanks will beat infantry going head to head. You're not going to get screwed because the RNG came up with a 1. However there are also terrain bonuses and flanking bonuses. And an infantry bonus for not moving and bing 'dug in'. It is quite advanced for when it came out.
A simple way to conquer the world in 20 minutes. Yes, the entire world.
If the graphics were updated, a few tweaks to the AI, and more War scenarios, could be among the greatest games ever. It is simple enough to learn quickly, yet the AI can be very demanding. A game can be easily completed in one setting. I have spent many enjoyable hours with this classic. While other RTS games take longer to play and are much more complicated (sometimes feels like I'm going back to work, rather than sitting down to enjoy a GAME, CHQ is challenging, yet fun. Would really like to see someone pick this property up, and update it without changing the basic concept.
Blast from the past. The first RTS I ever played against other people. Despite the now very clunky graphics, still a solid game.
good old fashioned strategy.. less complex so you really have to think of your strategy. Come and beat Mars God of War on the ???? year and give mars 990 billion money... lol
Greatest strategy game of all time.
Great old game. Almost like a modern chess game.
One of the earliest PvP games, Command HQ was inspired by tabletop games like Risk, but more particularly Axis and Allies. This game lets you play out any of a number of World War scenarios from WWI all the way through WWIV when we know not who begins on either side. Later scenarios introduce armor, aircraft, nukes and even satellites. Can you change history, or write it yourself!
