the early game progress is just bad, way to slow and the upgrades do almost nothing. later on (i did the demo and it took me .3 hours of playtime to beat) it gets slightly better but not much. Combo, which is in the name of the game is not unlocked till over 2 hours of playtime in and upgrading the max or even sustaining it seems useless aside from for the combo challenges. game mechanic doesn't feel to fun, just move mouse up and down is literally the only thing and moving side to side requires a EXPENSIVE upgrade that takes a long time to unlock. another problem with early game is 75%+ of the materials just get left behind because you have no magnet distance and beating a level dosent pick up any, just acts like dying. the reward for going up to a new and higher challenge is not worth it unless you still one shot everything and once you dont just restart. overall 3/10
So there is some good and bad here. I'll start by saying that by the end I was actually enjoying the game quite a bit! You definitely get that incremental feeling of being an unstoppable force, the only problem is the journey there. The beginning is rough, really rough. You will need to do countless runs of the exact same thing, meanwhile the upgrades will give you small fractions of a stat each. It is very demotivating, but the upgrade problem does let up as you get further in. Unfortunately the grind does not. I might have gone through the upgrade tree wrong, but by the end of the game I was playing rounds that lasted several minutes only to get enough resources to buy a single upgrade that wouldn't meaningfully impact my run. The game has good bones, the visuals are great, the music is nice...but perhaps it needed to be tested a bit more. I do think the combo system was interesting though.
I didn't play more than a few minutes before the progression was rebalanced, so i can't speak on how bad it was before. However, the progression feels perfectly fine and well tuned now. Any negative review due to the game being grindy from before July 21st can be disregarded in my opinion. Overall It's a solid addition to the growing list of short and sweet incremental games and one of nicest to look at in recent memory. 7/10
Very, very grindy. Upgrades feel really disappointing and progression is all around unsatisfying. I wanted to love this game but the gameplay loop consists of 98% grind, 2% attempting to progress. So far, every upgrade starts with being like a 0.01% chance to do something. Which means it becomes good after hours of grinding.
short but nice little game. got softlocked once and the dev fixed the issue within less than 24 hours! looking out for more games from them.
Really really tried to enjoy this game but the grind... its just too much 95% of all upgrades feel unsatisfying to buy, giving at most 10% increase to a stat with decreasing value each time you buy it im now pretty much at the end but i dont wanna spend another 30 mins just grinding out resources to beat the last part I'm really sad i can't recommend this but i couldnt motivate myself to finish this when i have done so for pretty much all similar "upgrade-tree" type incrementals currently on steam EDIT: The new patch balanced the game out a lot, the grind s lessend by a LOT I started a new save and finished the game this time With the new balancing i can wholeheartedly recommend this game now! Instead of the 10h i played to get stuck the first time, this time i got throught the game in about ~2.5h
At first, the game didn’t feel great — it was clunky and the progression was very slow. The recent patch was definitely necessary and made a big difference. It drastically improved the overall experience, and it’s important that players can “try to get here” as quickly as possible, since the combo levels reward so many more points. All in all, it’s a well-made game that deserves a positive review. 😊
Very cool incremental game, fast-paced and with lots of upgrades and a fairly long playthrough time. Recommended :)
Nice short game, get's a bit grindy towards the later parts, but overall enjoyable progression curve. If you like a quick dopamine fix, this is for you.
