The latest title in the famous Combat Mission franchise of wargames, now on Steam. Shock Force 2 brings you to a hypothetical conflict in Syria between the forces of NATO and the Syrian Army. Play either on WeGo or Real Time in an incredibly detailed and realistic 1:1 tactical simulation.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As a long time player going back to SF1 days, this games longevity is wonderful to experience. Fantastic tactics title with amazing emergent gameplay across scenarios and campaigns. Love it!

played for a little while seems amazing so far .
The interface is too dated to make this enjoyable. No inbuilt tutorial, makes it hard to get started/drawn into it.
The very best modern combat strategy game, albeit not a perfect one. Pros -Unmatched realism -A buttload of content -Scenarios that range from turkey-shoots to absolute slogs (in a good way) Cons -The first game on the CM2 engine, and thus the scenario designers don't fully understand some of its limitations. You'll know what I mean when you get to them. 9.5/10 I might never be a soldier, but this got me as close as I think I will ever get to the company commander experience.
I refunded this game, not because it's a bad game, but because it was constantly crashing, which is pretty insane. I have my complaints about the Combat Mission series, but enjoy-ability isn't one of them. Rather, it's things that keep me from enjoying the series that I consider downsides. I'm still not entirely sure what it was causing the crashes, but either resetting nvidia settings to defaults in the control panel, and disabling ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) which is something I hadn't considered before, possibly had an effect at least with Black Sea and Final Blitzkrieg. ASLR can be disabled per program in windows, which helped ease the concern around any security risks. ASLR (apparently) doesn't play super nice with older programs, and this engine is pretty dated. All that aside, Combat Mission is a very particular flavor of "game". It's a wargame in the very literal sense, there is actually a "professional edition" that actual armed forces and contractors use to model and wargame out what they do in real life. This means that you will absolutely get slapped around by the AI in this game, and you will get your own chances to slap around the AI if you know a bit about maneuver/mechanized/combined arms combat. If you're the type that know where to aim to get a one shot kill on a variety of armored vehicles, or you've been visited by your country's police because of your alleged involvement in leaking classified documents detailing weapons systems details to win an internet argument, you'll fit right in. That said, you kinda need to *want* to play the game to play it, and you'll get more enjoyment when you're taking your time and paying attention to what you're doing. tl;dr 7/10 but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I wish it wasn't $60 and +$30 for the marines DLC. Pretty ridiculous tbh. Also, shout out to Usually Hapless on YouTube. He has many very high quality videos on the entire Combat Mission series, and many tutorials that you should really watch before jumping in, and alongside a play-through.
I think you either love the CM games or not. I love 'em
It might have a simple look with basic graphics, but its deep mechanics force you to think carefully and strategically. Every move your units make is vital and can change the entire course of the battlefield. It takes hours to truly understand and learn the game, so you have to be patient. In the end, when you achieve your first clean victory, the feeling is incredibly satisfying.
