The latest title in the famous Combat Mission franchise of wargames, now on Steam. Shock Force 2 brings you to a hypothetical conflict in Syria between the forces of NATO and the Syrian Army. Play either on WeGo or Real Time in an incredibly detailed and realistic 1:1 tactical simulation.

Controls and Graphics are extremely dated and clunky but still peak.

Initial issue I made this review for is fixed. Disregard. Might make a more comprehensive review in the future.
I hadn't played Shock Force 2 in a long while so I fired it up the other day after playing a bunch of Beyond Overlord. I figured, I know how to play and the asymmetric warfare can be pretty chill if you use all your gadgets. I jumped into a mission to take a town and within 5 turns accidently walked a bunch of my infantry directly into an RPG while trying to run to a wall. It was awesome. First things first, if you are reading this and intimidated by Combat Mission, don't be. The manual has a tutorial to read alongside playing the missions. This is the game I learned how to play Combat Mission on, and I went from never playing to up and running within a half hour. The nitty gritty about spotting before being spotted and figuring out if a tiny ridge can be safely peeked over is learned by doing... and dying. The basics, however are super easy to figure out. Nobody has ever called me bright and I got it so you can too! Also, if you learn how to play one Combat Mission game you have unlocked them all! This game is just hectic fun and WeGo (simultaneous turns) is in my opinion the most amazing turn resolution in strategy games. I bought this game for $30 with no DLC and I have had plenty of content to play, so don't be concerned about all the massive and expensive DLC options. They are more akin to old school expansions, where each DLC gives you almost a new game's worth the goodies. So yeah, Shock Force 2. Buy it, learn Combat Mission's mechanics, and play the hell out of them! If you love being destroyed, you can buy Black Sea after and enjoy the Russians having all the same cool ♥♥♥♥ that you do! Anyway, I need to go find that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the RPG and make him kiss the baby.

A game that forces you to think through your actions, and use real life tactics to great effect. if you don't, your Pixeltruppen will surely die.
It might have a simple look with basic graphics, but its deep mechanics force you to think carefully and strategically. Every move your units make is vital and can change the entire course of the battlefield. It takes hours to truly understand and learn the game, so you have to be patient. In the end, when you achieve your first clean victory, the feeling is incredibly satisfying.
