For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away.
I have 603 hours in this game, and I love this game because it lightly touches on so many genres: clan and resource management, diplomacy, city building, open-world exploration, simulation, and historical elements. None of these systems are overly complex or convoluted, which makes the game feel cozy while still giving you plenty to get lost in. The art is beautiful—simple, stylized, and full of charm. There is a bit of a learning curve at first, and sometimes the game doesn’t do the best job of explaining or demonstrating how certain mechanics work. It took me until my third playthrough to really become successful. During my third playthrough, it took about 80 years to become the royal family. Now, after learning the systems and strategies, I average around 25-30 years to reach the throne. Overall, it’s a relaxing game with enough depth and variety to keep me coming back. Dev Suggestions: 1. Add a Marriage Management System a. I like to arrange and build clans through marriages. b. I can only use the “imperial marriage decree” when I am an imperial clan, but it is inefficient, and I have to use paper and pencil to track marriage combinations (yes, I am committed). This is soooo annoying in my one game, which is 130+ years old. 2. Ability to buy Taoist/Daoist medicine in provinces a. I know there was an update to the Fiefs, but my older saves will not populate them. 3. More access to find or talk to a specific royal member. a. I have waited too long for a particular royal member to appear—if at all. I like to marry royals before I take over, mainly for their special clothing designs, which make them look different as they walk around at my estate. 4. Update all build mechanics. a. Bruh, Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 has better build mechanics and can rotate the map 360 degrees. 5. Better family tree records retained in the game. a. I grow very attached to some of my badass queens named Xena or Azula. 6. Minimize and maximize windows, especially for lineage. 7. Improved matchmaking, especially allowing matchmakers suggestions to have “Talent” points. 8. Unassign all clan members AND retainer duties. a. I like to reset sometimes, but it is a pain to remove all duties. 9. Show who the retainer is assigned to. 10. When a notification says that a character is sick or has committed a crime, can I please be able to interact with them from the display board? Rather than going on a wild goose chase to find some random character on the map. 11. Also, I can’t help a sick character or accuse another character when they are working as an “official,” which makes the notifications pointless for them.

House of Legacy is honestly a really interesting game, but it definitely still needs more polish. What makes this game stand out the most for me is the amount of freedom it gives you. The customization is pretty wild, both before you start the game and while you are already playing. You are not just locked into one strict path or one boring “good guy” role. You can actually shape your character and your legacy in different ways, and that is probably the strongest part of the game. One of the coolest things is how flexible the roleplay can be. You can play as a loyal official, a corrupt power-hungry politician, someone trying to climb the social ladder, or even someone who rebels against the king. That kind of freedom makes the game feel more alive because your choices are not just cosmetic. The game gives you room to create your own story, and that is what makes it fun. The political and family/legacy side of the game is also pretty engaging. It feels like the kind of game where you can spend hours just planning your next move, managing your position, building influence, and deciding what kind of person your character is going to become. I really like games that let me experiment with different playstyles, and House of Legacy definitely has that “just one more turn” feeling when it works well. That said, the game still has some rough edges, especially with the text and UI. Sometimes the text feels too big, sometimes too small, and in some places the text boxes or holders do not properly fit the English text. It can make the interface look awkward, and sometimes it hurts the overall experience because you are trying to enjoy the game but the UI keeps reminding you that it still needs work. The English translation itself is understandable, but the layout does not always support it properly. The UI issue is not game-breaking, but it is noticeable. For a game that has a lot of menus, text, decisions, and management systems, readability is very important. When the text does not fit properly or the scaling feels inconsistent, it makes the game feel less polished than it should. I really hope the developers improve this part because the core gameplay already has a lot of potential. Overall, I think House of Legacy is a very promising game. It is not perfect, and the UI/text presentation definitely needs cleanup, but the amount of freedom, customization, and roleplay potential makes it worth checking out. If you enjoy strategy, dynasty management, political roleplay, and games where you can be anything from a corrupt official to a rebel against the crown, this game has a lot to offer.
Wish there was a mixed button. The game is cool, really cool. As far as sandbox/management games are concerned I think it's pretty interesting. But I'm not sure it's for me. This game is incredibly "make your own fun". If you can get invested in the dynastic component, the struggle for power and the different avenues to achieve it, awesome. If you are looking for interesting or complex gameplay mechanics, go elsewhere. The gameplay sort of makes this game an incremental or idle game. It boils down to: get gold so you can make building, upgrade building with gold, complete tasks for renown to buy more expensive building that gives more gold. This is interrupted occasionally getting a cool building that buffs your dynasty's learning, or lets you host party's. Outside of that there is the interaction system with members of other clans, and it's a bit odd. There are basically a bunch of buttons that make them either like you or get mad at you and they all scale off of different stats. But effectively they all do the same thing. The other thing this game suffers from, which I think plays into the wonkiness and general lack of actual mechanics, is the curse of Chinese dev UI. It's not the worst I've seen from an eastern title, but ♥♥♥♥, it's not good. Maybe this game just isn't for me, but if you can play something like Kenshi for 50k hours and distill fun purely from RP in the sandbox, you will probably like this.
Game is clearly in early access: some mechanics actually state 'not available' and other game aspects (certain stats and items) have no purpose whatsoever at the moment. As such, I'm quite excited for 1.0 release and to see how it impacts gameplay. To start, I thoroughly enjoyed what I have played so far and do recommend this game! I have unlocked most achievements and am now just working towards late-game achievements. The problem there is that all incentive quickly vanishes to continue playing late-game. I managed to, pretty easily in under 3 generations, wage a military coup and become the imperial clan and then... what? Frankly the bones of the game are very good! I was really surprised each time a new aspect was introduced to the game as it kept me invested. However, I do think there are some improvements that could be made to enhance overall gameplay as well as increase the replayability of the game. Things I'd love to see: - Better tips/guides. I was able to figure out most things by just pure trial and error or by checking out the guides other players have put together, but additional in-game would be great for overall experience. - Inter-clan politics. The NPCs are very lackluster at the moment. I was expecting more intrigue, more watching my back and my tongue, more consequences to my actions, but there was really nothing. I took down several clans without any resistance nor other clans having any issues with my annihilation rampage. - City management. There is absolutely no strategy here whatsoever. Place whatever you want wherever you want and, as someone who devours city management games, I was quite disappointed with this piece. - Estate management. My family members have no spending, no servants, and yet are perfectly happy and healthy. So is the entire purpose of estate planning for decoration? Do servants do anything besides drain my finances? If we're managing people, I'd love to see servant management politics become an aspect of gameplay. - Clan management. When someone dies, my entire family tree reorganizes itself. Why!? This is so confusing for me when I'm used to seeing specific people in specific places. I'm not memorizing 50+ names. I'm remembering where they were in the grid. And why do their names disappear on their children's cards when they die? If ancestors are so important to clan renown and lineage, why am I no longer able to see who a child's parents were now that they're dead? This feels like such a weird mechanic. - Automation. Maybe others will disagree with me here, but it became rather tedious rather quick to have to click every individual town on my fief and approve refugees to move in or to open and close the build menu on a city to refresh the retainers. Retainers should refresh periodically. I should be able to set a policy to 'allow/disallow' new refugees in my fief. - Fief management. Yay passive income! (pretty minor once you're racking in several million a month) Yay personal army! (that does next to nothing because no one attacks me and I have no real reason to attack anyone else) Yay high charisma spouses! (that I have to search for town by town by town)
I really have high hopes for this game. Even now it's great. positives: - lots of hairstyles and clothers wchich make every NPC look unique - absolutly beautiful graphics - 10* time speed (more games need that) negatives: - bugs (obviously) - lack of plants decorations - not much tutorials wchich makes few things in game quite difficult to understand/get rating: 7.5/10 Sorry for errors, English is not my first language.
A promise of a city builder-meets CK3 ends up a bunch of quaint but disjointed mechanics that do not form a coherent gameplay loop. You can build up your farm, plop fields and decorations, but when it comes to depth and complexity it's more of a hideout from Assassin's Creed Shadows than an island from Anno 1800. As in, it looks pretty, but is functionally pointless. Whatever you do, you start making millions almost instantly and there isn't much to spend it on. The comparison to mobile games some of the reviews make is spot on - like, you have a separate "gold" currency you only get as salary from offices. This gates your progression and there's basically two ways to get it - one is raising your heirs to have high enough writing stat and hope they pass exams, or send them to take part in wars and hope they get to climb officer ranks. Both is random and grindy. Essentially by midgame your gameplay slows down to a crawl and you find yourself having little impact over anything, and it becomes staring at the screen waiting for things to happen. The main resource that gates your ability to build new stuff is renown, and to farm it you either gotta complete pointless microquests, or spam your farm with fields only to remove them after, as every farm plopped gives 1 renown. There are nominally other clans but there's no reason to fight or even engage with them at all. The AI feels passive, which kinda makes this game a CK3's All Under Heaven, just with better performance. I feel the game just tries to be too many things at once, only to end up being nothing in particular.
