What a let down... so much potential, but bad decisions in the dev process ruined the fun. Progress reset for the third time.. I have spent more hours being forced to find trails to unlock than actually getting to have fun riding the trails... Not to mention the very time consuming grind for better brakes etc that I'd have to do again too.. Two progress resets in a short amount of time have ruined this game for me. Also little things never get fixed like the reset point being backwards.. And if you bring any of this up in their discord you get told why you are wrong with an attitude. Just a sad echo chamber of yes men in the devs ears unfortunately..
DO NOT BUY MAVRIX — LITERALLY ONE OF THE WORST BIKE GAMES I’VE PLAYED Seriously, save your money. I bought Mavrix because I wanted a realistic bike game, but what I got was an absolute mess. The controls are weird, unintuitive, and somehow different in basically every way imaginable. Even the tutorial feels like a chore, and apparently only 20% of players have even finished it. That should tell you something. And the performance? HORRIBLE. I have 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 5070 Ti, and I’m playing on the lowest graphics settings possible, yet the game still lags every two seconds. It genuinely feels like I’m watching a 1900s movie at 2 frames per second. How is this acceptable? I bought this game for the realism, and the biggest thing I got was a button that lets you do a whip. You can’t even properly hold or control a whip — you press the button, do the whip, and then have to do another one because apparently the timing ran out. It feels less like realistic biking and more like pressing random buttons and hoping something happens. And then there’s the price. $40?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I’ve played Riders Republic and Descenders on PS5, and both of them are WAYYYYY better than this. They actually feel fun, responsive, and worth playing. If you’re thinking about buying Mavrix, PLEASE DON’T. Save your $40 and buy Descenders instead. You’ll have a much better time. 0/10 from me. Avoid this game.

Not the best mountain bike game on the market. There is so many other good ones like: Descenders and Cranked. The game in itself runs really bad even on low settings. And don't even get me started on the physics. It is animation based which means its not free whips or tricks like backflips and such. The trails doesn't match well with the physics. If you are into a really unrealistic arcade game then this is definitely for you.

Un optomized as hell. I hit the smallest rock, and eat ♥♥♥♥. Same with the whips, whips that would be easily saved irl = ingame crash. Can't fast travel except to the van, no career. No non multiplayer option for literally no reason. When darkfest first came out so many people where there the game got laggy as hell. needs a physics overhaul. This game should be 15 dollars max. If you race irl just go play cranked. if you do freeride play descenders. untill it gets a physics & optomization overhaul this game is MID.
Tried to like the game but the controls are so terrible i cant. "boosting" feels terrible and makes zero sense, boosting mid air? whaaat? Bunny hopping consistency is so terrible, who tested that? Just doesnt jump half the time
Maybe it's great for those just starting. But having played through pre-release, it feels like a punishment. They reset our progress once. It was a grind to unlock the map one time. Two times was pushing it. But having to do it a third time? That's just a poor decision and a terrible "reward" to those that supported it this entire time.
Yeah i dont know about this game. I had high hopes but it doesn't run well, the physics aren't realistic and its all animation based, the controls are weird, the progression isn't that good, and it just wasn't all as i had hoped and seen. I think it can be improved but right now its like ok. Not bad but not good.
Missed opportunity... I really wanted to like this game as a keen MTBer and gamer, and got it very early in the early access, had my progress re-set several times through various parts of the release (but hey, I got a t-shirt in game...). The team talk the talk but the game doesn't really walk the walk. I keep trying it again and throughout the early access and now into final version and every time I put it down again and play something else... The game finally released and the dodgy physics are still there. Hitting a straw bale at 8 km/h has about the same effect as a rock at 30km/h. The controls, at least on PC, can be unpredictable. Bunny hops on a bike are tricky to master, but nothing like as unpredicable as they can be in game. Want to know whether that particular stone on the trail can be ridden over or whether it'll fling you 200m in the air? HAve a go - toss a coin, whatever.. And the respawn points. What a mess. Bale on a big jump - respawn on the kicker just before the lip. How useless is that?...
