The AI is blatantly cheating... 800 meters to my tank. 200 to the forest, 400 to the forest, 200 from the forest to the tank... The Panther finds a hole in the foliage and hits my tank. Like at a shooting gallery, the computer tank drives sideways past my five, none of them see it, and it takes out three. My soldiers either can't see it point-blank, or, like bad dancers, something is always in their way. But the AI, no.
I do like the settings, the landscapes and all the different troops and nationalitites in this game. It's still the same old "Combat Mission" when it comes to how the game works and playes, but the Italy athmosphere is really a nice feature. The DLC's for Fortress Italy is also something to look into. They bring ALOT of missions. Almost to the point that just having the core Fortress Italy-game gives you some serious FOMO, looking at all those grayed-out scenarios. I'd say - if your looking to buy Fortress Italy, you should probably calculate the cost of including those two DLC's too. I'd say Fortress Italy is up there among Normandy and Blitzkrieg when it comes to fun, replayability and a reasonable level of difficulty. Recommend!

It's a great game.
Ignore the graphics (though the details are beautiful when you zoom in) - it's one of the best squad/battalion-level tactical wargames I, as a wargamer, have ever played. Its origins and inspiration is the tabletop game "Advanced Squad Leader" (ASL) which is creme-de-la-creme of wargames. Price? It's ugly when compared to other video games, but it's totally all right in the context of solid tabletop games. It's not an easy game BUT the 2-level tutorials (basic and advanced) will help you to play and enjoy it in no time (unlike some other games that require 100s of hours of tutorials in advance). Disadvantage - the main game contains only few (5?) scenarios, 2 of which are tutorials - the bulk of the content is in expansions. If you are a wargamer, you must experience this
好玩是好玩,趁着夏促打折补票买了,但还是感觉很贵。太贵了,只买这一部了,其他的全玩学习版
Very good game
All combat Mission games are fun
tis good
Yes - with a caveat. The UI is hard to read, and the fonts seem broken. The graphics are barely passable, and jumpy. But the simulation is pretty amazing. I love the gameplay. Its tense, and frustrating. Trying to figure out who is shooting at you, and from where, so you can counterattack. Its all pretty great. I own a bunch of these. They make me mad. I love them anyways.
