It’s a game that blends deep storytelling with meaningful romance, offering a mix of science fiction, drama, and adult themes—all wrapped up in some seriously stunning visuals. But don’t expect a mindless NSFW fest; this game is all about the long game, balancing substance with spice.
About This Game

Storyline
The premise is gripping right from the start. You play as a highly decorated officer, transferred under mysterious circumstances to a Special Operations Squad tasked with dismantling a Rebel espionage ring. The Empire has just survived a catastrophic terrorist attack, tensions are high, and trust is in short supply. Every member of your squad has their own motives, secrets, and personal baggage, and it’s up to you to navigate this web of lies, betrayal, and political chaos—while also trying to, you know, not die. What I love here is the way the story keeps you on your toes. It’s not just about making choices; it’s about figuring out who’s on your side and who’s playing you like a damn fiddle. The pacing is excellent, with a gradual buildup of tension that makes every interaction feel important. There’s also a solid mix of world-building and character-driven drama, making it feel like a true sci-fi thriller rather than just another AVN with a futuristic skin.
Gameplay Mechanics
As a visual novel, Color of My Sound is primarily about choices, and the game does a great job of making them meaningful. Instead of bombarding you with random options that lead to arbitrary consequences, choices evolve naturally—starting as small variations before branching into significant story shifts. It gives a real sense of control without feeling overwhelming. The Codex system is another highlight. It expands as you progress, keeping track of lore entries and character dossiers so you’re never lost in the details. If you step away for a bit, you can always refresh your memory instead of scrambling to remember who betrayed whom. It’s a small but thoughtful addition that really enhances the experience. I initially thought there was no fast-forward feature, but luckily, it does exist! If you’re like me and enjoy experimenting with different choices, this is a lifesaver. Without it, replaying everything from scratch would be a drag. It’s great to have a way to skip through familiar dialogue and get straight to the decisions that matter.
Visuals & Audio
Let’s just get this out of the way—the game is stunning. The character designs are top-tier, each one oozing personality and intrigue. The environments are rich and atmospheric, making every scene feel alive. The attention to detail in expressions, lighting, and backgrounds really elevates the experience beyond the standard AVN fare. The audio is also solid. While there’s no voice acting (which, honestly, I’d love to see in future volumes), the soundtrack does a fantastic job of setting the mood. Whether it’s a tense political standoff or a more intimate moment, the music always complements the scene perfectly.
Pros

Deep, well-crafted story with real stakes.
Complex, multi-layered characters that go beyond simple romance options.
Gorgeous visuals and immersive world-building.
Thoughtful choice system that evolves as the game progresses.
Codex system helps keep track of lore and characters.

Cons

NSFW content is secondary to the story, which might disappoint some players.
Volume 2 & 3 aren’t out yet, and I need answers!

Conclusion
Color of My Sound is easily one of the most unique AVNs I’ve played. It delivers a compelling mix of mystery, sci-fi, and character-driven drama, all wrapped in a visually stunning package. It’s not just about romance—it’s about navigating a world of secrets, espionage, and personal struggles, with every choice feeling like it actually matters. If you’re here for a deep, engaging story with a side of well-earned romance, this is a must-play. But if you’re looking for something purely adult-focused, you might find the pacing a bit slow. That said, the build-up is absolutely worth it. Now, the real question is—where the hell are Volumes 2 & 3? Because I need them yesterday. Vague Angst: The Game (No Recommendation) The models look great. The art style is striking—even if some of the background assets are clearly recycled from other AVNs. The women are all extremely attractive and have distinct personalities. Your mileage may vary when it comes to how compelling you find their various sob stories, but for me, none were outright turn-offs. Of course, they’re all inexplicably and immediately infatuated with the MC, but you know the deal—it’s an AVN. Unfortunately, this game has two major problems: 1. It wants to be a sci-fi political thriller more than it wants to be an AVN. The creator clearly has a sprawling narrative in mind, filled with complex world-building and covert agendas—but the result is endless exposition and meandering dialogue that expands the setting without ever really moving the story forward. No one can speak plainly. Everyone has a secret. And every time it seems like you’re about to get an answer, it either leads to more questions, another lore dump, or gets interrupted by a scene that’s never followed up on. I’m 10 hours in and still have no idea what the super-agent team is actually supposed to do, why the MC is such a mopey, emotionally stunted sad sack, or what the core conflict even is. The rebels are bad... apparently. They want... something? The heroes are trying to stop them... somehow? The setting includes girls with golden arms, holotech, FTL travel, and energy weapons—yet the protagonist is still rocking a plaid button-up. It's just mystery box after mystery box, broken up by brief bursts of action that usually serve to introduce even more mysterious women who, of course, fall in love with the MC after a 30-second encounter. 2. It’s almost entirely spice-free—fatal for a game in this genre. The romantic pacing feels like it was written for a five-season TV show, where every woman is treated as a slow-burn lead instead of part of an ensemble romance cast. There’s endless teasing, awkward misunderstandings, and longing looks—but very little payoff. The MC, who’s clearly suffering from some fictional flavor of PTSD, is emotionally walled-off and seems incapable of acting on the literal harem setup falling into his lap. He keeps rooster-blocking himself. So far, only three women have had spicy scenes—five scenes total. Two were with a prologue character (one being a flashback/dream; she’s no longer in the story). Another woman got two scenes before being written out. And the third got one brief, unsatisfying encounter. That’s it. And it’s not like you can miss these scenes—when choices do appear, it’s obvious which one leads to spice and which one puts a stop to it. As far as I can tell, there’s no real branching path in either story or romance. It’s mostly a binary choice: “Yes, I like this girl; let’s keep playing the will-they/won’t-they game,” or “No thanks, please give me more exposition instead.” Maybe this is just Volume 1 of a grand 10-part epic, where all the setup now will eventually pay off in future DLC. But as it stands, this is a not recommend from me. After 10 hours, and the sudden, meaningless "death" of a character, I started skipping through the dialogue to see if anything would actually happen. It didn’t. I got bored. I quit.
아직도 대체 왜 제목이 Color of My Sound인지는 모르겠습니다.
Color of My Eye – A Visual Feast with Mystery & Eye Candy! 👀🔥 Alright, so I dived into Color of My Eye, and let me tell you—this game is like stepping into a beautifully painted dream where every character makes you question your own judgment. Who do you trust? Who’s playing mind games? Who’s just there to look ridiculously good? (Spoiler: all of them). The visuals? Chef’s kiss—gorgeous, detailed, and dripping with atmosphere. The story? A deep, intriguing mystery that keeps pulling you in. And yes, the eye candy is top-tier, which, let’s be honest, is always a plus. But where’s Volume 2 & 3?! I need answers, devs! 🫠 If you want a story-driven AVN with a side of suspiciously attractive characters and some serious world-building, this is a must-play. Just don’t expect a non-stop NSFW fest—it’s got substance first, spice second. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? 👀🔥
So I am one of those that should have read the description of the game before I bought it. I was expecting a story about a guy reconciling his war time actions and healing from them and maybe eventually learn to play music again. I was expecting him to reconnect with his past from before the war and maybe learn why the rebellion did what it did. Instead the dev killed all that in favor of GoT (but in space) style politics, family BS, and corporate intrigue. I actually finished this game some time ago and had just forgotten about it. After a certain event, I just stopped caring about the story as it was clear, what I was hoping for wasn't going to happen. There is no redemption. There is no healing. Just more trauma for the MC and most likely a lot more death. I was a lot more interested in the war and why it happened, but we're not going to get that. Instead we're gonna get politics and intrigue (as the description even tells us) and ignore the bigger picture. I personally don't care that there isn't a lot of lewdness in this AVN, but for those that do care, there isn't much and as LIs die, expect there to be less. If politics, intrigue, violence, death, all amid the backdrop of a war you'll never really learn anything about is your thing. Then pick it up. It's not my thing. So I can't recommend and genuinely wish I hadn't wasted my money.
The plot and graphics are very good. However, the story is unfinished as of this date so I'll have to pick it up when it's updated. The interface definiltely lacks a 'back' button, it's too easy to miss a dialogue, due to text showing late and having passed the screen, and the fact that there is no way to fo back a screen is quite frustrating. Lastly: it's a very silent game; most scenes don't have background music or sounds, and it's making the experience a bit unsettling. My recommendation would be to buy it, because it is a very good story, but shelve it until it's completely developped, and play it only then.
I want to recommend this, but can't... The artwork is great. Some of the best of 2025. BUT it's too irregular. Tones are all over the place, skin tones especially. Mainly with the MC. Is he a tanned white guy? A dark skinned spanish guy? An african american? Who the hell knows!!! Every scene with him shows us a different skin tone, and a different eye and nose shape. Same as Lana. She has a slight tan in some scenes, but then pale as a ghost in others. There's just no consistency, and it's so frustrating. The story is drawn out, and quite boring. Really robotic with no depth either. Spelling and grammar mistakes also, in too many places. Couldn't get into the story at all. The intimate scenes are poor, but not the stupid claymation crap that most AVNs have. Even though the artwork is great, with exception of the skin tones fluctuating everywhere, it's also grainy. There's an option to lower the grain to the lowest, but even at that, it's still too much. All in all, I don't see this as a contender for my top 10. Maybe somewhere around 20th for the year. But without fixing the flaws, some of the claymation crap is better. Still says Early Access here in mid March 2026. So maybe the devs will pay attention and actually fix their flaws. I doubt it though. Most don't pay attention to their reviews.
