Colo Grid Zation

Colo Grid Zation is a 2D retro/pixel strategy/city building game where you have to build minimalist 2D pixel structures across various planets. The game is presented badly with a plethora of spelling, grammatical and translation errors. Unfortunately despite the interesting concept, the technical implementation is on par with the presentation... disastrously bad. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. The very poor quality of this game puts it squarely on-par with ancient 1990's Flash/Java games, and given it's 2022 (and this was released not so far back in 2018), gamers and the industry expect and deserve better than this kind of low effort presentation. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Colo Grid Zation didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievments, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The game has 4 achievements, including one for completing the game, and all four achievements were achieved at the same rate, only around 32 percent of players. For all the achievements to have the same percentage of accomplishment, it means that only 1-2 players played the game, and when they did, it was all the way through to the end... possibly just the developer themselves who bothered with this as part of testing.. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. Colo Grid Zation has an overly optimistic price of around $4 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
