I've played some time now and I must say it's a pretty extensive game. At first it seems pretty basic, you load some coal, shoot some enemies, repair your stuff, unload your crates, and repeat. But the more you learn the basics, you start to optimize the weight-income balance, skip ports and spend an hour completely rebuilding the ship. And that's what I love about this game, you choose how deep you want to dive into it. Just have a casual, fun round with your friends, trolling around, or build a complex logical wiring to automate the thrusters, so your ship stops tumbling mid-air. Here are the feature I want to point out: Combat: Combat is definitely a large part of the game. It's crucial to defend your ship against different kind of enemies. The enemies have different mechanics, but they're not too difficult to learn. And by mixing the types of enemies you have to strategies quite a bit to match them, while at the same time maintaining your ship. Controls: The controls are very basic. You grab your tools and basically hold or press a button to interact with the parts in your ship. It gets interesting, when you are controlling these parts with other parts, e.g. using a lever to control throttle or a valve to open or close a thruster. So there are no keybinds to fly your ship, instead you build your own controls and interact with them. And with the possibility to use cables and signals of different sensors you can almost build or automate anything. Co-op: This game is designed as a co-op game. There are multiple tasks at the same time, and because you have to move around to tend to them, it gets much easier with more people. One gets good at shooting, another one gets good at flying, while the third has the urge to fish the whole time. And yet there are no skills or abilities, so if you want to do something different just go for it. Overall with a ton of items (and possibilities to connect them), multiple types of enemies and a fun co-op I wholeheartedly recommend you to give this small game a try. :)
This game is almost fun, but unfortunately it is just too frustrating. The controls are too simple, there is 1 interact button that does everything: pick up tools, pick up boxes, interact with consoles, open and close doors. The problem is that all these things are together in a small space. Many times we would get attacked and we simply could not get to the weapon console or close a critical door to stop all of our stuff from getting sucked out, or grab the needed tool to do emergency repairs, or grab the thruster valve to avoid a collision because there was something in the way. It's just not fun to not be able to do something because the controls are letting you down. Also the turret layout on the small starter ship was sub-optimal, with tiny firing arcs that would not be able to hit enemies when they attack us. We ended up just ignoring the enemies and tanking the damage until we just got too frustrated to continue
It's a nice game in itself. I would also like to continue playing it. But the controls are just terrible. You open doors with a button, pick up objects and interact. As it's quite cramped on the ship, you tend to catch things you don't want. Why isn't the mouse pointer used for aiming? So unfortunately I have to refund, because I'm more upset than I am having fun. What a pity.
Игра крайне сырая, но весёлая даже с небольшим набором контента. К сожалению, у меня друзья нытики и не захотели покупать игру. Надеюсь, разрабы не забьют на неё.
This is a really cool coop-game to play as a group of 2 to 4 people! Flying the ship as a crew really feels like you're in a crew. Everyone is busy keeping the engines running, adjust steam and speed or fight enemies. And things can get a bit hectic. :D Progressing is really standing out in this game. There are upgrades for almost every component that can make a significant difference. You can place and rearrange the ships components as you like (important to optimize paths). Further in the game you are even able to wire things together and automate some stuff! You could play the game alone but for me it was too hard. Playing with a buddy was the best experience for me. I would say you need at least one coop-partner.
I really like its unique style and ship control mechanics. Especially playing with friends makes lot of fun. You need to work together like a crew and coordinate your ship flying through the clouds and fighting against monsters! Can recommend it to everyone who likes to try out something new and loves to play cooperative games!
Its quite the fun game, a first it may look quite confusing since the tutorials aint quite enough to explain all there is to it, its really fun to play with friends and get all concentrated piloting either the movement of te ship or the guns to kill enemies, its got a lot of content that even after the few hours ive played i cant seem to see the full potential of, it some times can be quite wonky with collitions some times but its not a recurring problem. also one big bummer is the absolutely minuscule community, therefore, theres no guides, and almost no players, nevertheless i feel like discovering the game as we progress its a great way to experience the game!!
Just want to say a few words about this awesome title. While it can be quite challenging to manage keeping your skyship afloat, it always gives a cozy and chill atmosphere. Playing with friends is highly recommended because it not only makes the journey a lot more fun but also endorses the communication to coordinate all the routines and ressources. Just about my favourite part are the seemingly endless possibilities to configure your own skyship, even allowing for very fun and weird builds. The game encourages you to try out new elements and adding a new part, figuring out the plumbing and electronics always feels rewarding. tl;dr: I love this game it is simply amazing! Oh and by the way for all the fishing enthusiasts.... Try it :) it can be so funny to save the skyship with that one coal fish just cause you almost ran out of fuel...
Whether you're a fan of cooperative multiplayer games or enjoy a mix of action and strategy, Clouds Ahoy! delivers on all fronts. It's a must-play for those seeking a challenging and visually stunning adventure in the skies.
сначало было очень слошно и непонятно и хотели рефаунд сделать но потом поняли и понравилось играбельно только с другом
