(Friend of the Dev) Close Contact is a fun little sci-fi horror game, the alien is scary and the screams it makes are terrifying. The game has a wonderful soundtrack and the visuals/aesthetics are stunning. While the game only takes around an hour to complete if you rush through, you can easily spend another hour reading the various panels dotted around the station for additional lore or listening to the voice logs scattered about. I would definitely recommend this game if you are a fan of the genre and for the price its a no-brainer.
This was actually a pretty competent game, all things considered! The world building, the atmosphere, it all works really well together to make an incredibly interesting environment. The monster has an interesting design, and the mechanics to handle the monster was unique enough that I don't really remember many games where I've seen that. I did have a few frame rate issues, and there is one puzzle that you can quite easily soft-lock yourself out of the game, so I had to restart. Getting to the menu in-game is a little finnicky as well. As well, how you're supposed to "handle" the monster didn't always make sense to me, but that could be personal. Either way, worth the $4 I paid for it, and if the developer makes another game, I'll certainly be checking it out. If you want to see it for yourself, check out the video below! https://youtu.be/m1y5PeE2CoI
encontra a base desabitada
. A ambientação do game é excepcional. Recomendo!
This is bad. On many levels. Technically it's poorly optimised and doesn't run smoothly on a decent hardware. To get to the game menu while playing you have to press ESC and then hold both mouse buttons for couple of seconds - no joke! Why? I am seriously curious - why!? What kind of idea is that? You start the game in zero gravity, and even this short scene makes you quickly frustrated. There are some panels displaying information about the situation you're in, and you can't read them because your character is constantly moving and spinning. Am I playing drunk astronaut or what? There is some weird mechanic in this game - it includes closing and opening your eyes - but I didn't play long enough to see what purpose does it serve. Except ability to activate some holograms... Yes, there are holograms everywhere and those that are interactive can be activated while you look at them with closed eyes.... Wait what?! Why? Ok, let's assume it's kind of interesting why things are this way in this game so let's play it more. But first let's downgrade the video quality so at least we have a decent framerate. Press ESC. Press both mouse buttons. 1. 2. 3... nothing happens. Oh, game froze. I guess handling game menu is too much for this piece of software. Well, handling this game is too much for me.... Refunded,
Nice exploration game with poorly executed puzzles. Thumbs up if you like walking sims or exploration games but get it on sale. If you get stuck watch below (spoilers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr-jzRMAizw
Friend of the dev A fun game, that will last an hour or two, with an interesting background and tense interaction with the monster. Looks and sounds great!
(Friend of the Developer) Close Contact is a game about avoiding close contact. Very 2020. But it all honesty, It's a short little horror game that I really enjoyed. The main mechanic of having to close your eyes is unique and the world building around the use of holograms to facilitate navigation was interesting. It's just the little things like the employees complaining about too many holo-cats that make the world feel that little bit more special. The music is also amazing, as to be expected with games from this developer. The landing sequence brought back memories of the first Mass Effect and it really helped set the tone for exploring the unknown. The game isn't too long, it will only set you back about an hour and a half, but it's a fun experience that I would recommend. Just remember to use the message cubes if you get stuck!
I went everywhere, clicked on everything, i'm stuck, hints are not helpful, Youtube walktrough : useless!
If you're a fan of short but sweet, tense horror games, Close Contact is well worth your time. The game takes place in an eerie underground base, with a short section on a dense alien world. Close Contact has a clever mechanic whereby you have to close your eyes with the left mouse button to avoid being hunted by a genuinely scary creature. Of course, this makes navigation tricky, and can lead to some heart-stopping jump scares. All of this is complemented by an excellent, atmospheric soundtrack. Of course, being primarily developed by one person, there are a few rough edges. But overall Close Contact is a great little game at a fantastic price point that never outstays its welcome, and shouldn't be missed by fans of sci-fi horror games like Soma.
