Cleo - a pirate's tale

Well made crafted game with good vibes. It's unique and well played even after decade of point and click adventures. And in time it can get it's earned place with legendary titles of 90's and 00's. Puzzles are easy and the game is short, but definetely worth playing for a good story and some nostalgy feeling.

This game sat in my library for a few years. Yesterday I got my steam deck and this was the first game I played on it. I didn't put it down at all. As a kid who loved to read i got sucked into the story immediately, didn't we all wish for our own adventure? I spent about 8 hours of my life getting to know the characters and their story, learned a very cool card game and the ending was worth it. I'm not going to lie, I shed a few tears. I love the message at the end. I can wholeheartedly recommend this story, and I will, to anyone looking for a point and click adventure. Also I will now go and read my little boy some stories, so he too can feel like I did as a child.

One of the most soulful, comforting indies I've played in a while. Granted, I am a sucker for pirate stories- But the amount of heart that has been put in the art, the writing, the characters, the voice acting, the music, ... Every minute detail of this game was built out of love for a good story. Really recommend picking this one up, it'll set you back less than 15 bucks and give you a few magical hours to set sail with.

Great game!

A beautiful example of the fact that you don't need to re invent the wheel to deliver something amazing. A simple game that simply works and is simply great. Love the fact that it respects the player and doesn't try to hold your hand through the puzzles. The only thing I would like to be different about the game is it should be longer because its just charming.

What a gorgeous game, a beautiful ode to the point and click adventures of the past. Lots of humor, not too hard and a fun way to spend a good few nights.

Visually its art style is timeless, with a beautiful atmosphere, animations, and references. Audio is masterfully produced, everything is voice acted to perfection. puzzles are all well thought out, and the story is very cute, funny and engaging. There truly isn't that many negatives aside from a few soft locks, no real replayability (aside from achievement hunting), the first puzzle will test you so you know what you've signed up for, and its fairly short which many may not like at this price. Most of the achievements are obtained by playing, with quite a few requiring a bit more effort. The coolest achievement has to be reading all the messages left in bottles (LETTER OPENER - PLATINUM), as they're all written by supporters. The hardest achievement is having to win all the kraken fodder games on your first try, throughout the entire playthrough (KRAKEN FODDER GOD). one unlucky roll and you're hard resetting the entire run (however this can be cheesed with savestates). BUT would I recommend it? well... Absolutely. While I think the dev deserves every penny to help create future bangers, zero excuse not to pick this one up on sale if you've had your eyes on it!
