Congratulations! You managed to make a 24-year-old grown woman, who hasn't been scared of a horror game since she was 10, ask her big brother when he'll be home so she doesn't have to play your game by herself. I am both elated and embarrassed, why would you do this to me, no game has the right to creep me out to this extent.
one of the most promising new indie horror franchises, looking forward to part 2
I was interested in the game because I really like claymation and the trailer seemed cool. The game is advertised with cutscenes, voice acting and the premise of being part of a children’s show that somehow has gone horribly wrong. I experienced none of that in the game. There was no story other than a couple vague letter scattered about and the game consists of slowly exploring an abstract house with no clear goal. Didn’t feel like what was advertised at all.
This game is a major improvement from the demo. it would be pretty cool if you did add achievements tho... 8/10 not bad had/having fun would recommend.
Amazing artstyle, good plot, challenging mechanics, and I LOOOVE it! The devs are great and care a lot about this game and making it enjoyable for the players. Would highly recommend to any horror game fan, but especially if you like Little Big Planet or Nightmare Before Christmas :-)
While it does have it's issues, if you can get past them, it ends up being a really cool experience. The art direction and weird atmosphere work very well together. Though, I do recommend you don't play this game high. But yea, I feel like as the patches come in, this game will continue to improve a lot. Edit: Oh yea, just had a random thought but I feel like the game needs some handholding, because it can get kind of confusing really fast. The mechanics are interesting in several ways, but due to it operating differently from other games, it would be a great improvement if players were assisted along the way. Even simple things like an on screen prompt explaining how to open the door, or how to befriend the mushroom head man, would make the game ten times better.
I've been waiting for this game to come out and there is definitely a lot of promise here, I think the game needs more work. I encountered several glitches such as having the controls menu remain on screen until I reset the game, leaving through a window and ending up out of bounds and falling through the floor and seeing some areas in which there were holes in the geometry that I could see out through. There was also an issue I had where interacting with a door did not open it, and instead I had to just walk into it. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if I just found it unintuitive but it took me a while to figure out how to even enter the building due to this. One of the first puzzles I came to felt frustrating because I had to alternate between reading a note, looking at a little house and looking at paintings, and after that one of the paintings was in such a dark spot that I couldn't read it at all. what was very good though is the unique aesthetic, which is achieved so well and is the reason I was drawn to this game in the first place, and the atmosphere that became very tense and gripping when spooky events would occur. Because of these aspects I want to follow this game and see if it gets any significant updates, but as of right now, it's not for me.
Cute short game, I have to admit I was like 2 deaths away from rage quitting the segment with the magnifying glass key ♥♥♥♥ was unfairly hard
+ Stylistically the game is fantastic, unique, amazing. - Gameplay mechanics-wise this game is obtuse, counter-intuitive, and some including myself do and will find this current (Nov. 2022) version of this game confusing in a way that makes the experience frustrating. the death-sound is incredibly unpleasant in every way.
