About
Classified: France ‘44 is a new turn-based strategy game, set in World War II during the desperate months leading up to the Allied invasion of France in June 1944.
Take charge of a special-ops team of Allied commandos and French resistance fighters. Recruit elite operatives to build your squad, then engage in a sweeping campaign of sabotage and destruction. Deal with competing factions to build the resistance network and strike at German targets deep in occupied territory. However, the more chaos you cause, the more you’ll draw the merciless attention of the Gestapo secret police.
In exciting missions inspired by the exploits of the Allies and French, the game expands on turn-based tactical concepts, bringing authentic World War 2 combat to life. The campaign allows for multiple playthroughs that are different each time. For those who really want to test their skills, our rich Mission Creator tool allows players to create, share and download custom missions.
In Classified: France ‘44’s unique morale system, every shot taken affects you or your enemies. Suppress and break your opposition, giving you a brief window to flank your cowering targets and finish them off.
Use stealth tactics to eliminate key targets and start the fight on your terms. However, the more kills you make, the more enemies will begin to suspect that something's wrong, so be ready to unleash your ambush before they sniff you out!
An authentic and characterful mix of heroes will be yours to choose from, each with their own story to tell. Train, customise and equip them with your growing arsenal of skills and weapons. Raise the morale of your team by spending time around the campfire, and learning about their lives as they fight across the war-ravaged fields of occupied France.
Overall, I enjoyed my 30-hour playthrough of Classified: France '44.
I liked the WWII resistance theme and enjoyed the background, environments, progression, items, story and characters. It reminded me a bit of Operation Darkness on Xbox 360: Very rough, but worth playing for those that love the WW2 theme or hardcore fans of Turn-based tactics games. I thought the stealth and morale mechanics, mission and enemy variety, customizable skill trees (similar to Gears Tactics), and spray/line-of-fire system added a good amount of depth and strategy to gameplay. I beat the game on regular/normal difficulty and used my Xbox 1 controller. It took a few missions to learn its systems and address its limitations. There are several minor/annoying bugs, clunky mechanics, and missed opportunities, but plenty of good things that make this game absolutely worth picking up on sale. For $9.99, I highly recommend it. Strong 8/10.
Solid game with unique skill tree format, hardest difficulty really just comes down to armor on enemies absording lots more damage, which does make you use your skills to the fullest extent, but really doesn't change the game any. The idea that killing x number of enemies triggers an ambush seems weird, you should be able to trigger it anytime you are still undetected. But instead you can puzzle out the best x enemies to kill before the ambush kicks in. Some missions can really be stealthed all the way through, which is a cool twist. Forced timers and reinforcements is also a twist that works well in this game. Overworld level is ok. In all a good turn based game. Has a few issues that are just quality of life: recap at end tells me my people went on 0 missions, which is wrong, and the camera sometimes moves on you when trying to plan your actions, causing an occasional misclick. Not sure there is a ton of replay beyond getting to all the missions. I played to 100% achievements and think I am done. @ 60 hours, so a good amount of game time.
Do not buy even if you like XCOM. There's bug in the game, it stuck in enemy's phase.
Pretty good tactical game, from a small studio. It takes all the codes from similar games (like XCOM), but manages to introduce very interesting new mechanics (like morale and the stealth/ambush mecanics) to make it that much different. The historical settings is also a nice touch. Animations could be better, but honestly, it is better they spent time on their mechanics than on animation. It had been sitting in my wishlist for a long time, and I am glad I finally got it.
看到最后,各个操作的角色的后续进展,有些感慨。
jestem fanem gier w stylu XCOMa ale ta mi się nie podoba i żałuję zakupu, odradzam
I've yet to finish the campaign, but I can already say that this game has far exceeded my expectations. Think AA turn-based ww2 xcom, with slightly more complexity in some key areas. You have to think about suppression and firing sectors or it's a fubar. This really is one of the good ones in this genre. Great fun!
Can't recommend due to getting bugs and then the game locked itself and forced me to ALT+F4 also the tutorials wording is bad. Just feels too buggy to me tbh.
