Little janky, but fun.
Amazing Co-op game with unique play style for both players!
This game has a lot of problems, but it is worth it. There's some really bad lip-synch, and characters being out-of-frame during cutscenes, or phasing through the furniture when sitting down. The voice acting is a real mixed bag, ranging from quite good to not great. Nerve-gas grenades straight up do not do anything. Guards get stuck on objects and each other, and end up teleporting to catch up to their patrol routes. I could go on, but you get the gist; this is not a very good game. But it is such an easy recommend for me. I am no expert on writing, so I am not someone who should tell you if writing is good or bad, but what I can say is that the story really shows an enormeous level of ambition, and makes it plain that long hours went into researching the geopolitical and technological changes the world was going through in 1996, and how even back then, issues of online privacy and mass surveillance were rearing their ugly heads. I found the co-op really enjoyable; I played the hacker, while a friend of mine played the agent, and we had a blast. It is very asymmetric; the agent does all the typical stealth game stuff, but the hacker is the only one that has a map of the area; the hacker has access to the CCTV cameras and can spot and track guards, can trigger environmental hazards to eliminate or distract guards, hack email accounts and find a great heap of useless information and occasional tidbits of useful information. It is, however, very clear who is player one and who is player two; the agent is the star of the show, and the hacker is just a support. Back at base, only the agent can talk to the staff and choose the next mission, for example. I see some of the other reviews here criticizing the game's harshness and making it sound like being seen is an instant game over, but frankly I could not disagree more. Yes, guards spot you easily, and you have only a split second to react before they become alerted, but with a third person view, and a hacker doing overwatch via surveillance cameras, you have so many options available to avoid being spotted in the first place, and even after you have been spotted, both the agent and the hacker have tools available to solve the situation; bullets, grenades, bribery, social engineering, running and hiding, and probably other things I haven't thought of. You will almost certainly leave a bigger footprint that might affect future missions, but that really is a very appropriate way to punish the players without giving them a game over. Overall, this game is a very rough cut gem, and an easy recommend to anyone who likes co-op and spy-thrillers, and who has a high tolerance for jank, and an easy not-recommend for anyone else.
This is a game i have played.
i think this is the perfect multiplayer game, because if you're on voice with someone else then the two of you can piss yourself laughing at any jankiness (which, as stupid as this might sound, actually is great fun imo. it's the genuinely entertaining type of jank)
Surprsingly good co op game hidden behind some pretty mediocre animations and voice acting.
Would not recommend. The stealth gamerplay is very inconsisent and buggy, making this a very unpleasant experience.
Nice puzzle game with asymetrical coop gameplay.
Хорошая игра для игры с другом.
so good once you and a friend get into the groove
