So I bought this software... sometime- it looked like it would be able to help me quickly generate a few quick settings for my game. One major hiccup- not random. I tried having it regenerate a tavern setting. It only swapped out the props (food, tankards and chairs) for different looking ones. It was done helping generate. I had to move everything and try to make it look like a tavern. After moving everything, thinking that it was going to help give me different views or ideas. It set everything back to the original starting positions from where I moved it! It is much better at generating doors than expected- but I cannot connect the buildings or rooms. It just generates and does not create connections between the rooms. This software needs some TLC and some serious work. It has a long way to go before it can be considered part of my repertoire. Because of these limitations, I do not recommend this until it matures more.
Errores a guardar, pocos asset faltan cosas funciona mal y encima saca un modulo de pago.
This program had so much potential. Unfortunately, it is not supported really at the moment and it actualyl is worse than from a few months ago when I used it last. Clunky, slow, poor quality, "random" regeneration is not regenerating rooms, just replaces the props. Absolutely to be avoided, it has not been updated in a good while and seems like the developer does not give a damn.
Tu peux fabriquer des belles maps 3D, mais tu ne peux pas les exporter... C'est idiot!
Tem tantos bugs que é praticamente inútil para criar mapas
I really like this program. It is easy to learn and use. I find it very helpful in making maps that look professional. However, there are some problems with it. I think this program is great for exterior maps. However, interior maps suffer. Because of the system does not account for roofs when rendering the lighting. So if one wants to have an enclosed building within no windows and one door. Then place a fire pit in the center of said building. There are no options to isolate the interior of the building from the sunlight. Unless you make one map for day time exterior and a night time interior and the Photoshop the maps together. Which defeats the purpose of the program. Another issue I have is with the export system. Chronos Builder allows one to export the lighting, walls, windows, and doors to various VTT programs. However, you can only do this for maps that are 60 x 60 squares. When the max size of a Chronos Builder map is 100 x 100. This is because Chronos Builder has a limit to the resolution that it can export. Through testing, the max resolution is 4200 x 4200 pixels. The company advertised the ability to make maps as large as 100 x 100 squares. However, they did not state that the max resolution per square would be 42 pixels and that most VTTs would not accept that format for importing maps. The asset library provides a limited number of options, but the assets it offers are highly detailed and look great. I really like the lighting and furniture options. However, there is no random rotation option. So if you set down a large section of tiled flooring, they all will face the same direction. Which looks horrible by itself. It would be great if there was an option to randomize the direction of the tiles as the system lays them down. Instead of going to each time and changing the direction manually. In order to avoid a repeating pattern. Overall, Just keep in mind its limitations and that you might have to do some map editing outside of Chronos Builder to get the exact look you want.
A great tool for creating maps for my RPG games
Bad. Not much assets, and is laggy. It's not user friendly at all. I would not recommend it under any circumstances.
