TOKUSENTAI!!!
Its all right, but ultimately feels undercooked and it's a bit buggy.
The best "Power Rangers" game ever made. Customizable teams, tactical combat and interesting story. I was left wanting more gameplay when it ended. Really wish they had made a sequel that dove deeper into custom story lines, more designs and Power Ranger tropes.
Chroma Squad has a ton of heart. It leans hard into the goofy sentai‑show vibe—cardboard monsters, over‑the‑top poses, and all the cheesy charm you’d expect from a low‑budget superhero production. It’s fun, it’s silly, and it absolutely knows what it is. However, the underlying gameplay systems are not as enjoyable. The tactical combat is straightforward to the point of predictability, and the management elements feel more decorative than strategic. While none of this is inherently negative, the overall simplicity limits long‑term engagement. And honestly, that’s why I won’t be finishing it. The theme is great, but the mechanics are so light that I found myself drifting away pretty quickly. Still, if you’re into the aesthetic and want something breezy, it’s worth a look.
even though its been years between writing this comment and playing this game, but i've found this game as close to "making your own power rangers series" to anything you can imagine
If you love Power Rangers and turn-based combat, this game is a match made in heaven. Can't recommend enough.
