Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.71/day in the week to Sep 14 → 2.67/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Chained Echoes presents itself as a modernized version of classic 90s JRPGS. In terms of story, you can see how the story is inspired by games like Xenogears, FF6 and FF7. As I said, some modern stuff is thrown in the mix, with enemies in the map substituting random encounters, crafting upgrades for weapon/armor, etc. One thing I really liked is how the game rewards active exploration, and I believe the reward board system is really brilliant in that sense. A downside is that some quests will not appear in city boards, or in-game warnings, you will have to walk around areas you have already been to, if you want to find them. I played 40+ hours and enjoyed the game, although I recognize it has some flaws here and there. If you are a JRPG fan, I believe you will like this game.
I really enjoyed this one. The story was great, the combat was great, the characters are delightful.

Chocantemente bom.
This game originally passed me by for that other Chrono Trigger inspired JRPG that came out around the same time, and it's a tragedy I didn't get around to playing it until now. Chained Echoes manages to do what many other retro-inspired JRPGs cannot; distinguish itself. From the Overdrive system to the Sky Armor battles, combat rarely feels like a slog, only when grinding for materials. While the bosses aren't necessarily difficult, understanding of the mechanics and systems tend to be required for some of the optional late-game bosses (looking at you Randomage). If you've got some cash to spare, you'll struggle to find better value for 40hrs worth of excellent story, gameplay, and intriguing setup for a future sequel. FYI: You can run from battles using LB/Q, you're welcome.
Makes me feel everything, flooded with oxytocin and everything nice. If I return back in time, I'd tell myself to immediately start playing Chained Echoes. At the current state, I've played maybe not even 20% of the main plot from the base game. But this game deserves an immediate review. Plot ★★★★ ☆ A small continent, 3 kingdom in spite of each other, and war. Then somehow there's an explosion powerful enough that wiped all warring factions. In spite of common fear, the whole continent agreed upon peace treaty. Then politics happen and secrets unravel. We are playing as a young man partaking a significant role in the previous war, along with other characters met along the way. Fate intertwined for characters from vastly different background. For a JRPG it's alluring enough without popping another vein in my head. Battle Mechanics ★★★★★ - Basic stats, basic command, very basic few elemental damage. - There's this thing called overdrive meter, affected by the kind of actions you choose within the battle. One of the most fun aspect in the game, making each decision feels like they matter instead of spamming buttons or replaying scripts. - After battle, all points are collected even if you had a dying character even if some died. - Full heal at the start of every match. - Not grindy, as the battle potential isn't set by conventional "level" system. - Adjustable difficulty settings without consequence. Side Exploration ★★★★★ - No random mobs encounter. You can choose to battle them or not. Free escape except for bosses. - Quests are abundant, yet felt like they all aren't drowning. Unlike other RPG where the game just tells you to do redundant things over and over just for the sake of adding more numbers of achievement and play time. - The way they put treasures, NPC, quest, maps, and details are master class. Made me always want to explore and never felt unrewarded for everything. - Despite okayish writing for the main plot, the game has intricate genius writing for side stories. They all felt alive and always in character. Atmosphere & Art ★★★★★ - Made with unity, but it doesn't have much of those dumb post processing. - Yes it's pixel art, but everything in the world feels alive. Far from being humble, responsive animation is more favorable over details and post processing. - Music and sound effect are top notch for JRPG. Almost every unique scene or theme has their own music.

Other notes worthy of mention: - Dev is indie. Initially started in 2015 by himself, then funded by Kickstarters to do it as a full time job. It was a huge success. But so far I haven't heard any about upcoming title. - A DLC promising tens of hours of more late game exploration is available. - The game won multiple awards nomination and stuff whatsoever. - JRPG genre, but made by a German guy. I've found a handful of unexpected harsh violence and comedy. I think they're brilliant, but please keep in mind for you softies. Recommended for those who: - Fetish on pixel art. - Want easy JRPG that doesn't force you to throw away your social life. - Admires game development especially those who likes to support smaller devs because this game is Fking well made on every each of it's nook & cranny. Don't buy if you: - Played too much JRPG and nothing can ever fill the void inside your corrupted heart. - Expecting complex writings in the league of Tolkien and the likes. - Maybe this game is best enjoyed with controller. Never played with keyboard, never thought of it. ★ ☆☆☆☆ Bad ★★ ☆☆☆ Below expectation ★★★ ☆☆ About average, nothing fancy ★★★★ ☆ Better than most ★★★★★ Hall of fame masterpiece
