Runs smoothly, fun & captive gameplay

Castle of Illusion is a simple and short, yet pretty fun platformer game. I remember playin' the same game on my tablet many years ago (guess ya could say it was one of my childhood games (but not the original Genesis game, though, I never knew it even existed until years later) LOL). It was definitely nice revisitin' it many years later, still a fun game after all these years! ^v^ I would give this version specifically a 7/10, but I'm gonna have to give it a 6.5/10. Why? Well, while the game [i]is[/i] functional and playable... in windowed mode (although, I personally prefer to play games in windowed mode over full screen so this doesn't matter too much to me). The game seems to be broken when it's in full screen mode. Like, if ya want to check on somethin' and ya click out of the window, then the game breaks and makes ya force-quit the game. Another thing to point out is that the title screen, menus, and cutscenes also seem to be broken part of the time (sometimes they work, sometimes they don't). Like, seriously, what the heck is this?!?! https://files.catbox.moe/1aspw8.png https://files.catbox.moe/7a9ral.png I'm not sure if it's because I'm runnin' the game on Windows 11, or the game just tends to sometimes break on more modern computers. But hey, at least the actual gameplay is fine. As far as I could tell, I never ran into any glitches durin' my playthrough. But yeah, just I thought I'd point out the bugged graphics - especially for Windows 11 users (I don't know if it can also break on Windows 10 and earlier OSes as well, though, so this is just an assumption). It's more of an annoyance than somethin' that breaks the game. But if ya want to play the game without havin' to deal with minor annoyances like this, then it's probably better if ya get the console versions. But, if annoyances like these don't bother ya, then I'd say it's probably safe to get the PC version (it's your choice, reader). tl;dr: Short, simple, fun game. Sometimes has bugged title screen, menus, and cutscenes; actual gameplay is fine. 6.5/10

Увидела игру по приятной скидке и решила окунуться в детство и поиграть в неё снова. Стандартный платформер, но он не даёт заскучать, а поиск секреток иногда заставлял перепроходить уровни по нескольку раз. Я довольна покупкой и могу посоветовать поиграть в неё.

Gioco davvero molto carino. È stato fantastico poterlo rigiocare oggi: mi ha trasmesso una grande nostalgia e mi ha ricordato la mia infanzia. Un piccolo capolavoro senza tempo.

Sega Genesis nostalgia its great when it decides to make it past the Start button. It works sometimes and fun all around, but mostly it freezes on a checkerboard once you are able to hit Start. A fix would be fantastic.
