Reviews
To cancel out the two negative reviews for accuracy. This was originally on Switch. Think one of the those high production values games on mobile+ That's what you get here.
Fun side scroller classic! A remake of the beloved nintendo switch title and plays extremely smooth. If you loved the switch version you'll love this.
Tedious and bland.
So, this game was very much not for me. Hopefully this review saves someone else from buying a game expecting one thing and getting… cardio. Castle of Heart originally launched on Switch back in 2018, and has since been resurrected, polished, and released to other platforms. If you enjoy classic action platformers where everything is about speed, pressure, and grabbing power-ups like your life depends on it (because it literally does), you might be right at home here. I was not. TIME (aka Hurry Up or Turn to Rock) There is no visible countdown timer like old-school Mario, but do not be fooled. Your health is constantly draining unless you keep collecting items or killing enemies. Stop moving? Admire scenery? Blink too long? Congratulations, you are now dead. The entire game is basically yelling “GO GO GO” while I just wanted to look around and exist for five seconds. I prefer games that let me explore and soak in the atmosphere, not ones that treat relaxation as a punishable offense. COLLECTING (or Else) You collect floating stones to heal and slow the curse, and they are absolutely everywhere. It feels like grabbing coins in Mario, except if you miss too many, you die. No pressure. There are also collectible gems in each level, similar to Mario big coins, but grabbing them just adds to the frantic scavenger hunt vibe. It never felt rewarding, just mandatory. LEVELS (Giving Mobile Energy) Levels are broken up into segmented chunks, and this is where the game started feeling oddly like a mobile title to me. Each stage feels less like part of a continuous adventure and more like a checklist. Did you collect all the coins? All the diamonds? Find the hidden item? Get the completion percentage? Cool, now do it again. I much prefer a seamless journey where areas flow naturally into one another, not something that feels like it is grading me at the end of every level. COMBAT (It's Fine... I Guess) Combat is basic hack-and-slash. No combos, no parries, no real variety. Just: run → attack → roll → collect → jump → collect → attack → roll → repeat forever. It works, but it never evolves, surprises, or gives you anything interesting to master. FINAL THOUGHTS I did not enjoy my time with this game. Is this review incredibly deep given my playtime? Probably not. But I bought it, disliked it, and here we are. I wanted to refund before missing the deadline, and the game never grabbed my attention from the start. There are more games to play and better developers to spend my refund—I mean, money—on. That said, this does not mean you will hate it. If timed pressure platformers are your thing, you might have a great time. Just maybe watch a YouTube video first and make sure you are cool with a game that treats standing still like a personal insult.
Lovely game, great atmosphere and music. Cute story. Just a couple of issues: -There's no resoluion beyond 1080p, plese for the love of god allow me to use my custom resolutions or at least 4k -there's no ultrawide support, please the game would look great with it! -It feels very sluggish to play, not sure if it's an input lag or animations issue (playing at 140fps)
game chán quá - this game is boring... waste money
The game is mid at best. It has nice graphics and scenery. The gameplay is alright. You jump and run and hit and shoot your enemies. Standard platform fare. The difficulty is balanced enough with the exception of the badly designed boss fights. Especially the Bear fight is really annoying. The music in the game is just unbearable though. There are four locals consisting of 5 stages each and only four looping music themes that play throughout each locale's stages. The music gets very, very repetitive and it's downright bad and unfiting to the game's setting. I recommend the game for a few hours of fun at that friendly price but keep your expectations in check. Edit: What a pointless and awful ending....
