Last update in November, and now on sale? Still the controls are misaligned with the weapons standard for every other VR title. Such a good idea, and potential....
This is a cool concept. There is a severe motion sickness issue (at least for me) that makes playing this game longer than 20 minutes impossible. It is not optimized. This is the only VR game that has given me motion sickness. I'll try it again once it's better optimized. If you've gotten motion sickness before playing in VR, I don't recommend this game.
First VR game purchased. Didnt work, wouldn't get past the intro screen. Kept with it as dev responsed to discussion comments and seemed to promise prompt updates, and a fix for WMR headets. Then nothing, all quiet for months. For that reason I dont recommend.

Very interesting concept. I've been waiting for something like this to come along. Unfortunately for $9.99 it's not as polished as it needs to be. Perhaps in the future. The controls are very strange as others have said. I opted for the touchpad movement and I found that often the movement would get stuck and I couldn't stop my character. The pressing on the pad and trigger is awkward and took some getting used to. Also very buggy collision system. If you walk into a tree you will be shot forward several feet and if an animal crosses your path you jump up a few feet. The voice acting is just strange and maybe unnecessary. It was funny (not on purpose), but got old and I found that the lines were overlapping when several things were happening at once. I'll say that the game has potential, but has a long way to go. I cannot recommend it at this time and at this price point, but I hope the Dev(s) keep working on it and make something beautiful.
Feels like a pure Cash Grab asset flip. Poor performance and confusing controls. This game is digital syphilis. But mostly in the last stages where you're crazy and dying and nobody has any penicillin. I'll do my best to write a longer review at some point if I feel like it. But seriously, theres no way the positive reviews can be by real people. Even at a steep discount this game was disapointing. The opening tutorial is so broken its not even funny, and when you do get into the real world its just as big of a let down. Really, Look up some gameplay on twitch. Its a joke. :)
It looks like there’s no further development taking place with this game. Now that it has gone on sale again, I thought I should write a review so that others who might be enticed by the $3 price tag know what they are getting into! Will you like this game? That depends on you. If you’re really bothered by imperfections, you probably won’t like spending three bucks on this. If you’re super into sim and survival games, you may find some of this game’s imperfections tolerable, as they really are outweighed by positives if you are a diehard fan of this premise. The basic plot is you’re stranded on an island and you have to collect or kill food, collect supplies, use them to craft more complex supplies, and eventually build yourself a ship once you amass enough of said supplies. (The ship takes a LOT of supplies.) While surviving, you encounter creatures both harmless and harmful, and have a few choices as to how to deal (weapons, or fleeing). So, I found the scenery and animations really cool. I had actual dreams about being on this island chopping down banana trees, so I did enjoy spending time playing it. The animation could get glitchy. Animals tended to get stuck every now and then. This was useful for getting chased by bears, not so much for trying to ride the horse. My biggest issue was with weapons. After crafting a weapon and going to use it, if it fell to the ground, I was unable to pick it up unless I happened to kick it just right and it went into my outstretched hand. Finally I was able to use weapons and tools by crafting them and gently laying them on a very flat rock so they were off the ground. (I did have one hilarious moment where I tried to use a non-flat rock. My pickaxe bounced off the rock and spun waaaay up into the sky, practically into the stratosphere, where it promptly got stuck; a second one bounced out to sea before I figured out a flat rock was the only way this would work.) The BIG problem, though, with this game, was the loading time. It takes forever, like minutes, to load, like back in the day with the floppy disks. And if you save the game, same thing: It takes minutes. What I did to cope — I must have liked this game in spite of its problems — was to forage during the day, go back to the shelter/bed/save point at night, then while it was saving, take off the headset, go get a drink of water, do a couple of household chores and come back to the game to do another day of foraging. (It really does take disturbingly long to save; I’m not exaggerating.) So, overall, YES, I liked this game, though it did have its drawbacks, and it doesn’t look like they are being fixed anytime soon. I was disappointed when I finally finished it, and I ended up buying Island 359 next, which has some similarities but is way more complex and less buggy, plus, you know, you hunt dinosaurs.
Kaufempfehlung.
Edit October 2018: Ok the dev has decided the game is fit for "full release", be warned he has not done a single thing with it! No fixes, no patches, nothing! The "full release" is exactly the same as what it was 12 months ago with the exact same issues detailed in my original review. He still does not respond to any of the community. Feel free to check out my Full release impressions video, there is still a little fun to be had, but it is still far from ready! https://youtu.be/82SzGAesKlk Well after one update patch the dev/s have clearly ditched the game. Been no updates since 17th November 2017, they do not respond to anyone in the community and show no signs of doing anything at all. So buyer beware, right now it has some neat ideas but poorly implemented. Climbing trees should be a cool feature, but it is cumbersome. Stand near an iem to pick it up and either you`ll be sent flying, or the item will disappear, or it will fly away. Turning in game makes it go crazy, literally it becomes a juddery mess which can cause headaches and sickness. Rift users feel seriously detached from the hands, they are out of proportion and are more like long stumps stick out from the end of your actual hands. There are many other flaws too, most of which have been reported but the dev is not responding. I would seriously advise staying well clear unless the dev steps up and shows interest in this title, even at the "sale" price.
Abandoned
Just bought the game which was on sale but can only play the tutorial. The game stops responding when you try to load the normal game. Ive tried several re-launches but still the same. Asking for my money back.
