About

Caput Mortum is a short first-person horror experience inspired by retro 3D dungeon crawlers and survival horror games. Delve into a tower of forgotten nightmares, where every step could be your last. Overcome horrors from beyond death and unlock the secrets of forbidden knowledge.
Close the lights, put on headphones, and immerse yourself in the game's macabre world. Behind every door lurks a new terror, and in every corner a key to some eldritch secret. Pay close attention to your surroundings, overcome unique puzzles, and piece together the events that took place within the tower. How deep are you willing to go, and what terrible truths will you uncover?
You must stay vigilant, as varied monsters roam the abandoned halls of the tower and won't hesitate to attack. Stealth past them, fight back, or perhaps... something else? Just be mindful of your health. There are only so many healing items in the game. This is old school, remember?
Play with a control scheme reminiscent of old-school dungeon crawlers that makes you feel more vulnerable, and control your right hand separately to interact with objects and attack creatures. Several control options are available!
Controller (Default): The recommended way of playing Caput Mortum. The controls make you feel vulnerable while remaining fair.
Controller (King's Field): For nostalgic players! You can control the camera and move your character like in the King's Field games.
Controller (Modern): For players who want to use a controller with a more familiar control scheme.
Keyboard Only: If you don't own a controller but still want the feeling of vulnerability, this is the option for you! Control the camera and your hand with the arrow keys.
Keyboard & Mouse: This is for players wanting a more familiar experience. Control the camera and your hand with the mouse.

Amnesia's Field
interesting control mechanic, creative puzzles that actually use that mechanic and a very promising full of potential story. i truly believe if devs had more budget, could be a masterpiece. a very short fantastical and philosophical horror experience with the tiniest bit of combat and/or escaping. had a lot of fun, very inspiring.
Outstanding horror game, constantly unnerving, and cryptic story
an excellent short horror experience. neat mechanics, and great art direction and atmosphere
Genuinely excellent and short horror game. Would more than recommend this to any horror fan, or anyone who's wanting something short and sweet!
If your looking for something like Amnesia but is able to stand on its own two legs. Go with Caput Mortum. Reading that I only played this game for about two hours is strange. As it felt far longer to play, which in this case is a good thing! While the game says you should play on controller. Mouse and keyboard is just fine. The game can be a bit frustrating puzzle wise, but never in a way that feels like its insulting the player. It knows you can figure it out. Experiment with puzzles. Try what you might think won't work.
Loved it! Creepy atmosphere, great music, simple but enjoyable puzzles. The unusual control scheme adds to the tension, but there are lots of options to make the controls more approachable. It's short and sweet, but I missed some secrets, so I might go back for a second playthrough. Great game overall and it's nice to see that indie devs hold the fort against gen ai.
Czuć klimat Amnesii i twórczości Lovecrafta. Mechanika rąsi ciekawa pierwszy raz się z takim czymś spotykam.
