About
Your journey begins on a remote island with a small crew of workers and a ship full of supplies. Mine raw materials, reshape the fully dynamic terrain, grow crops, build factories, and research new technologies. Expand across the island, lay rail networks, trade with distant settlements, and work your way up to nuclear power and space flight.
The entire terrain is fully dynamic. Every mountain can be flattened, every valley filled, and even the ocean can be reclaimed to expand the available land. Create open-pit mines to reach deep ore deposits, or dump excess rock into the ocean to expand your shoreline. Build ramps and slopes so your vehicles can reach any elevation.
Start simple with iron smelting, concrete mixing, and food processing. As you research new technologies, expand into oil refining, electronics, computing, and eventually rocket and space station components. Manage waste and pollution before they affect your people's health.

Trucks handle general logistics automatically, delivering products where they are needed most. Lay conveyor belts and pipes for high-throughput direct connections between machines. Build a rail network to move bulk cargo across long distances. Use amphibious vehicles and bridges to reach other islands.
Grow crops on farms and process them into food or industrial products. Supply fertilizers to boost yields and build greenhouses to grow more advanced crops. Your population needs housing, clean water, electricity, healthcare, and household goods. Keep them happy and healthy, and they will reward you with Unity, a resource that lets you speed up construction, enact powerful edicts, and claim resources on the world map. Neglect waste management or let pollution build up, and diseases will spread.
Send your ship out to explore the world map. Discover new islands with resources to import, refugees to rescue, and allied settlements to trade with. Establish shipping contracts for recurring exchanges, or negotiate quick trades when you need something fast. Your ultimate goal is full self-sufficiency: launch rockets, build a space station, and mine asteroids for rare resources that make your colony independent indefinitely.
Copy and paste parts of your factory, or save entire layouts as blueprints to reuse and share. Use planning mode to lay out designs before committing resources. Design your own island in the map editor and play it or share it with others. Or switch to sandbox mode where all buildings and resources are free, perfect for experimenting and learning.

Tried to give it a chance, 2 times... it is so complicated that it is basically the same as working a full time job. The UX needs a lot of improvement as well as the tutorials.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Don't listen to those pathetic crybabies whining just because the devs dropped a DLC for a game that's still technically in Early Access. That ♥♥♥♥ says literally nothing about the actual game. This game is by far the best in its category, packed with every single mechanic, feature, and toy a conveyor belt + excavator/dumper maniac could ever dream of. As of July 2026, it's in such a polished state that the EA label is completely unjustified. I have no idea why they didn't release it as 1.0 — I haven't run into a single bug after dumping ton of hours into it. As for the DLC: it doesn't affect gameplay at all. It's basically a little thank-you to the people who buy it and support the tiny dev team. Way more honest way to support game development than what the big publishers usually pull. So hands off CoI! This is a flawless little gem. If you like the genre, buy it without hesitation.

I've tried to like this game as I've enjoyed automation sim games by playing a new game 3 times to optimize the automation but the un-fun difficulty racks up between advancing from conveyor belts to trains and by not micro managing resources sufficiently you can get semi-soft locked pretty easily and getting out of that is not fun. It's not the sort of "challenging" difficulty but a type of difficulty that's a time sink and watch time by while your trucks try to fill the over-demand of supplies. UI is lacking and a memory spikes starts to show mid-game. The game pretty much falls behind when the tutorial missions finishes. Neat idea with use of geo-landscaping with mining and the "unity" system though to bypass waiting for building times etc though. I'd say wait for v1.0 imo.
Tutorial could use some work. Drops you into a game. with a popup box of the codex and lets you figure it out. At that point I just decided, this wasn't for me anymore, and closed the game. But also why is there DLC for an Early access game? That alone is enough for me to Say I don't recommend this game.
This game is amazing, if you enjoy factory sim games as I do, this is right up that alley with some added industrial realism and the need to maintain a colony of people. A lot of the recipes are intertwined and byproducts have several uses, it's up to you to decide how you handle them, but it's likely that you'll end up with a very co-dependant chain where if one thing stops, the death spiral can be real. This is a design intent as a challenge rather than a problem. As far as the recent drama about a certain mod/modder: people made their choices and decided to rely on a closed-source copyrighted dll for a mod and the modder walked away and then got himself and his mod banned, and now folks are complaining about the devs. It makes no sense, the devs are very community-friendly and support modding explicitly. Just don't trust your save files in the hands of someone who decides to make a closed source copyrighted mod, ya know.
i cannot, for the life of me, figure out the dumping and mining mechanics in this game. i looked up tutorials on youtube, reddit, steam pages. i give up.
Most granular of the factory games. Almost absurd level of complexity, but dished out at your own pace. Never feel rushed, make your own objectives and achieve them the way you want. Definite labor of love. Highly recommended.
