Cannibal Tales - Episode 1

Sub 30 minutes of story which isn't even enjoyable. On the plus side, it kept me eligible for a refund.

This game is certainly not for the faint of heart or those who have a more delicate disposition... I loved it!! A little sex tossed into a spoopy mixer with violence and madness, I'm such a happy girl. <3 It's a tale of cannibalism, so I fully expected to be both shocked and repulsed by what I discovered and the dev team certainly did not disappoint here. This was an intense ride(giggity) from start to finish. I was able to complete my first play-through in about 30 minutes. It's brief, but there are other story paths/branches you can take(in a new game) if you're a completionist. <3 Part of me wishes for a save feature so that I can change my mind about choices on the fly, but the game is brief enough that it isn't a huge problem to replay and see all the art again. Let's talk briefly about the artwork. I loved the imagery they used and how they managed to capture such a creepy atmosphere that even a horror veteran such as myself was squirming in my chair. Bravissimo!! Gross! But also awesome! Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with me either lol <3 Thumbs up friends! If you're having doubts, take a nibble on a sale. But I think this experience is worth full price.

I wanted to like this and by all rights, I should have liked this. But I am 13 minutes in and bored with the leaden pace, the highly average writing, the cookie-cutter stereotypes of characters, and a few other minor details that were immersion killers. I'm really happy for those that enjoyed it, but this one fell flat for me.

Trippy and crazy as hell. Best sound design of any visual novel I've ever played. I really hope there will be more episodes.

"Cannibal Tales". It was the title that hooked me. And the art in it kept me seated and invested. Helen is a journalist who is a little too willing to get her hands dirty for the scoop of the century. Episode 1 wastes no time establishing this as she's in a bad relationship, a dangerous job and capturing a truly gruesome story in all it's gritty detail. The highlight for me is the art. It oozes the same campy exploitation that rippled through the decades of horror film genre. The soundtrack, ambiance, (very) limited animation compose imagery to shock and captivate. ... But it's still just one episode and it's been sometime since the last update. I hate to think this project has been dropped because there is so much potential in it. It's the only thing keeping me from giving it a down vote. I played again just so I had an excuse to write this review. Cannibal Tales does leave me hungry for more, yet my plate remains empty. Will the next course be worth the wait? I can only hope.

A calming, soothing game full of totally family-friendly content such as healthy relationship, mother's love and men supporting each other in times of need.
