UPDATE 04/07/20 The game finally has a proper menu with volume settings. It's a bit confusing to navigate at first, but after some guesswork I managed to figure out the controls. Game still starts in full screen mode with no option to window, so the jittering remains. Level select is a nice addition but is ultimately an unnecessary feature given how short the game is. Would be nice if there was a controls list, it took me ages to remember that the element swap button was 'E', and 'Space' is enter. Nothing else about the main game seems to have been modified, so the rest of my impressions remain the same. Original Review 04/07/19 Not a great game. No graphics settings. No mute, no volume control. No menus. No save/ load. Music is grating and repetitive, which makes the lack of volume control even worse. Gameplay could be good if the camera wasn't so jittery (which might be because I couldn't window the game), and puzzles were explored further. My favourite section was the logic puzzle with the lava to heat the cauldron, but since it was so unexplored and the focus seemed to be Pokemon-style sliding puzzles that stage really left a bad impression. The sliding puzzles were awful because of how much guesswork was needed because you aren't given the full view of where the sliders will land you. The teleportation puzzles wasn't really much of a puzzle, it was more just guesswork. Thankfully it wasn't used that much. The last section of the game was very short and seemed under-developed. There's a lot of unnecessary waiting around in the first area with the fans opening each part, would've been better if I could let myself out instead of having to wait to be left out. It would've been nice if I could see how many lollipops are left in each stage, luckily I got them all on my first attempt but I can see if I was unlucky I would've had to explore around a lot more to see what I had missed. Only upside is the graphics. They're really nice and retro. The characters were cute and the style really bright and cheery. Even on sale for 40% off I cannot recommend this game because there is no replayablity and the game is less than 30 minutes of gameplay. You can get better games that have high replayabiltiy for less.
Very fun and creative game. I wish there was more to do!
I love this game. It's super freaking cute, and actually really good. I enjoy the element switches, and puzzles. It's the best top down I've played in a long time. The only problem I have is the fact there's no menu. I can't change the res, or volume. Or anything like that. And esc just closes the game. If that was there, I swear it'd be a perfect game to me. Other than that, I wish puzzles could be resetted. But 10/10 game. Must play.
In this puzzle game, you take control of a wizard named Candy, who has no higher purpose than overcoming the challenges placed in front of her with the help of her three spells. These spells are tied to three elements: fire, which burns objects; wind, which pushes them; and ice, which freezes them. However, you cannot freely experiment with spells for different effects, since certain puzzle objects only react to a specific element. For example, a pinwheel will only start turning and trigger an event when hit with wind. The other two spells have no effect on it. You also cannot use spells creatively, such as freezing a cannon that shoots fire. At the same time, Candy cannot be harmed by anything, and all interactive elements exist purely for puzzle solving. Overall, this is a short game with only three stages, each taking just a few minutes to complete. The goal in each stage is to collect enough lollipops to open the exit door. These are scattered throughout fairly linear levels, and although you can choose which path to take next, you eventually need to explore all of them. Each path ends quickly, so it is easy to keep track of where you have already been and where you still need to go. Unfortunately, some of the achievements appear to be broken. Unless there are hidden areas within the stages, I was unable to find all the lollipops despite completing the game. There are also two achievements for burning bushes and corn, which did not unlock even after meeting their requirements.
PErsonally loved it kept me engaged and I have been speed running it for funsies afterward
Great game. Love the graphics. Only wish there was a save feature and pause menu. Maybe a way to turn down the music volume? Other than that GREAT game! Definately worth playing over and over again!
Really cute game, could take a propper mapping so there is no frame stuttering... 8/10 imo
Best game I have ever played.
a really cool concept, fun game
