Reviews
Very cinematic and good-looking COD, but some of the worst gameplay in the series. The campaign is super short compared to the OG COD 2, missions themselves are incredibly short and riddled with QTEs or on-rails vehicle sections. It just feels like an amusement park ride with occasional breaks to defend an area and try a new weapon. I thought they were going for grim realism by adding the health bar which happily depletes from a few bullets even on regular difficulty, but that can't be true because the enemies are total bullet sponges. I shoot a soldier point blank in the chest 5-6 times with a bolt-action rifle and he just staggers a bit? I empty an entire magazine into another one and he just drops to the floor and starts shooting me with a pistol? That must be some thick wool they're wearing. It's reminiscent of the 2000s FPS but in all the bad ways; hitscan enemies that magically see you through soild obstacles and smoke, bullet sponge enemies, useless companion AI running around in circles, bad hitboxes, annoying QTE. Skip this one unless you can pick it up for 70-90% discount.
