Call of Duty: World at War

Outstanding game, before COD turned to the absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they are today, probably the best COD game I've ever played. Everything from the story to the soundtrack is amazing, and it encapsulates the atmosphere and brutality of war to the fullest capacity that a video game can give.

This game is meh. The story is both fantastic, and then a giant pile of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. While playing as the Americans, you play as Private Miller; a forgettable character with the worst squad imaginable. While playing as Miller, instead of feeling like being part of your squad, you feel more like the new guy who does everything. Your sargeant is a whiny coward who only sends you in to do everything. I know most COD games follow the same dynamic, but when it occurs in this game, it just becomes infuriating. Meanwhile while playing as the Russians, the story is far more interesting and gritty, with a more closer connection to your sargeant that develops with the story. I dont know why the writers ♥♥♥♥ the bed on the american side of the story so bad, but its just dissapointing.

World at War é na minha opinião um dos melhores Call of Duty já feitos. A campanha entrega uma das representações mais brutais e impactantes da segunda guerra mundial que já vi. A ambientação é pesada, sombria e violenta na medida certa fazendo você realmente sentir o caos e o desespero dos campos de batalha. O que mais me impressiona até hoje é a atmosfera, as trilhas sonoras são simplesmente fantásticas e ajudam a criar momentos que ficam gravados na memória, o jogo consegue manter uma tensão constante. E então temos o lendário modo Zombies, o que começou aqui virou um fenômeno para a franquia inteira. A atmosfera sombria, a sensação de isolamento e o desafio constante criam uma experiência única, é um modo simples mas extremamente viciante e marcante. Poucos jogos conseguem transmitir uma sensação tão intensa de sobrevivência quanto esse Zombies. Mesmo tantos anos depois do lançamento World at War continua sendo uma obra prima, a campanha é incrível, o modo Zombies é histórico, a trilha sonora arrepia e a ambientação é uma das melhores já criadas para um jogo de guerra, um clássico absoluto!
