SINGLE PLAYER REVIEW ONLY: A great cinematic fps campaign with a few rough edges. I really enjoyed the world design and the highly varied missions in Advanced Warfare - it feels a bit like a mashup of Halo and a James Bond film: hopping in and out of a variety of vehicles with a bunch of scifi gadgets to play with while racing around the globe hunting a criminal mastermind. My only criticism of the campaign itself is a sudden ending that doesn't give you any outro/epilogue. There are a couple of other downsides to AW - first is optimisation. Despite being over a decade old, the game still struggled to run smoothly in a couple of the busy sequences and I had to fiddle around with my settings to get it smoother - this just shouldn't have been a thing considering my computer can run more recent games on max. Second is the price - they really should reduce the base price considering the age of the game and how much of the content baked into that price was for now redundant multiplayer. Still, it's worth buying on sale and I guess their strategy of never reducing prices worked on me - I'd had it in the wishlist for years waiting for a bigger discount on sale, but it never goes below 67% off so I ended up buying it for that. I would give this two different ratings - for the campaign alone, 8/10. With the performance and pricing issues considered, 6.5/10.

The campaign is cool, especially on higher difficulties. Only really worth getting if it's on sale though

Advanced Warfare was truly a experience as it had been a big game in my childhood, played this since I was 7, the story is absolutely underrated despite the sudden ending of the story with Irons. And the problems with this game like the sudden fps drops, which can be fixed by playing the game in windowed fullscreen instead of fullscreen. Now on the logic of this COD wasn't the greatest as we had so many chances to live throughout the campaign even though we should have not had the chance to survive, like in the mission of eliminating Hades (Manhunt) like why didn't Hades get a gun and shoot us instead of going in with melee. Prison (Captured) and the last mission, when Irons had the chance to kill us he didn't. But this COD was unique for its time as it was the only COD with upgrade points with EXO, threat grenades, autolock grenades and the jump movement and stuff. Overall the game feels a bit rushed in a way, like Activision had pushed Sledgehammer games to release the call of duty earlier as the last mission of eliminating Irons felt rushed. But still this is a amazing game and has given great memories. Would 100% recommend to play. And If I wish for Sledgehammer and Activision to make a sequel to Advanced Warfare!
