A cute game with a fun story and characters! It felt like I was watching a kid's TV show at times - in the most positive way. The world is so full of charm and I enjoyed following all the side quests and main story to completion! The arcade games were fun as well, the customisability was an interesting feature and added a nice twist to the gameplay! The only issue I ran into with my steam deck was the rhythm game. The order of the symbols versus my buttons just was not working in my head. I attempted using the touch screen, but this sadly only accepted one input at a time. After reading a guide that suggested using a keyboard, I connected a Bluetooth one and I was able to beat all the songs! Overall a really fun experience with interesting concepts and a lot of heart in its story and world <3
Button City is a fantastic experience that filled a hole I didn’t know I had. It's a very relaxing and fun game with a cute art style and lots of personality. Discovering this city and its people as a "new kid" is a real pleasure. Each one has their own personality and backstory with plenty of funny moments and sometimes some pretty serious ones. Sure, the minigames can seem a bit basic and the puzzles aren't really challenging but that's not the point of the game. The main thing is the world you explore, the characters you meet, the friends you make along the way and the quest to save Button City from the evil PepperBottom. The developers did an incredible job creating this world. After almost 9 hours spent on it I'm almost sad there's nothing left for me to do. It was so good that I wish I could find something new to spend more time with the Fluff Squad. Give it a chance; It's wonderful!

petit banger comme un bonbon acidulé merci........................ je suis triste d'avoir fini ps: i would 100% love a DLC with a real multiplayer mode for gobabots and the car racer game!!
I wasn't expecting to have so much fun with this title! But for a short 6 hour game that I got from the Cute & Cozy Bundle from Fanatical, I love it! The game is primarily targeted for a younger audiences, but does have some messaging that only adults would understand when it comes to character lore and life struggles. The game also takes more of a Tellatale-like approach with the story being most of the gameplay. I didn't have a problem with it, in fact it made me like the game even more! But I know most people won't play it for the story elements. The cast of characters and their strengths is cute, Chive being my favorite! She's very technical and into inventing stuff despite her condition! Overall, great game. Though I think getting this on a sale would be better priced for how much the game offers. Just my take. 9/10!
Que jogo incrível! Os personagens são amáveis e a história é ótima, e o gameplay dos jogos de fliperama é muito divertido e se mistura muito bem com a história, recomendo muito esse jogo.
If you love AC you will love thissss. it's more story based with lots of minigames and lovable characters. GO FLUFF SQUAD! FLUFF TUFFS; GET IN THE BIN.
Great enjoyable game. Notes for those going for 100% completion: 1.For the Fancy Fluff achievement you need to buy all wearables from the prize shop on the second floor of button city, even if you have duplicates of that wearable already. 2.For Poppy's Clean Week quest you might have to do other quests to unlock areas that have trash for you to pick up. For example, I had 48 out of 50 of the trash and had to complete Sage's quest (coffee shop person) to access a new area that had the remaining 2 pieces of trash. 3.Interior Designer and Fancy Fluff achievements require some quests to be completed in order to get those achievements. So if you're not getting them go and finish quests. I will update this review later with more info and an actual in-depth review.
Button City, developed by Subliminal and published by Subliminal and Wings, is a narrative-driven adventure that blends colorful nostalgia with a sincere coming-of-age story. Set in a stylized world populated by anthropomorphic characters, it immediately stands out for its vibrant low-poly aesthetic and warm, inviting tone. What begins as a simple tale about moving to a new place gradually unfolds into something more emotionally grounded, focusing on friendship, belonging, and the quiet fear of losing the spaces that matter most. You play as Fennel, a shy young fox who has just relocated to a new town and is struggling to find his footing. The early portions of the game revolve around meeting new people, navigating unfamiliar social situations, and slowly building connections. This process feels intentionally slow and reflective, capturing the awkwardness and uncertainty that come with starting over. As Fennel becomes involved with a group of friends who spend their time at the local arcade, the story begins to take shape, centering on their shared experiences and the bonds that form through them. The arcade itself becomes more than just a setting—it represents a place of comfort and identity, making the threat of its closure a central emotional conflict. The gameplay follows a straightforward structure, built around exploration, dialogue, and small tasks that move the story forward. The town is presented as a series of compact, interconnected areas, each designed with a distinct visual identity that makes navigation simple while still feeling lively. Interaction is largely conversational, with players spending much of their time engaging with characters and progressing through narrative beats. This design supports the story’s focus on relationships, though it can occasionally lead to repetitive patterns of moving between locations and triggering dialogue sequences. One of the game’s more distinctive features is its inclusion of arcade-style minigames, which are woven directly into the narrative. These games, particularly the team-based Gobabots, serve as both a gameplay mechanic and a storytelling device, reflecting the characters’ shared interests and competitive spirit. Additional minigames provide variety and reinforce the arcade setting, offering moments of activity that break up the slower pacing of the main story. However, while these segments are enjoyable initially, they lack depth and can become repetitive over time, making them feel more like supporting elements than fully developed systems. Visually, Button City is one of the more memorable games in its category. Its low-poly art style is bright, expressive, and full of personality, creating a world that feels both playful and cohesive. Each environment is carefully designed to reflect the tone of the story, and the use of color helps convey emotion in subtle ways. The soundtrack complements this presentation with a mix of relaxed and upbeat tracks that enhance the atmosphere without overwhelming it. Together, these elements create a strong sense of identity, making the game feel distinct even within a crowded genre. The narrative itself is where the game leaves its strongest impression. It explores themes of change, community, and the importance of shared spaces with a level of sincerity that feels genuine rather than forced. The relationships between characters are central to this, with each interaction contributing to a broader sense of connection and growth. While the story is relatively short, it manages to capture the emotional weight of its themes, even if some characters and subplots do not receive as much development as they could have. There are, however, some rough edges that hold the experience back. Technical issues, including occasional bugs and minor control inconsistencies, can interrupt the flow of gameplay. The pacing can also feel uneven at times, with certain sections dragging slightly due to repetitive tasks or extended dialogue sequences. Additionally, while the minigames add variety, their limited depth prevents them from sustaining long-term engagement. Ultimately, Button City is a game that succeeds through its charm and emotional focus rather than its mechanical complexity. It offers a heartfelt story set within a visually distinctive world, supported by a cast of characters that feel relatable and sincere. While it may not provide the most polished or varied gameplay experience, it stands out for its ability to capture a specific feeling—the uncertainty of growing up and the importance of holding onto the things that make a place feel like home. Rating: 8/10
It's an extremely cute game full of personality! Except that the gameplay is a little boring and slow. But the story and characters are really great!
Very cute little game! Charming characters, heartwarming low-stakes story, and pleasant aesthetics. I can easily recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy story-based game!
