This game is very bugging. Alot of features from bus simulator 21 are not in bus simulator 27 (although i know there are different developers). No dealership on the map. There is no open world. You can only drive the routes. Im very dissappointed in what has been developed in 6 years time.

I think one needs to have appropriate expectations when it comes to this game. Like the original, there's quite a bit of jank here with something decent underneath. It's not for everyone though and I'd certainly understand why a person might choose to wait before purchasing this game. I'll start off with the positives: 1. The world of Felicia Bay is a huge upgrade over the original. The city, the landmarks, all the other cool places are actually really great. It feels like a real place and is genuinely a cool world to drive in. 2. Most* of the bus models are pretty nice. There are a few with goofy issues but generally they're high quality. Now onto the negatives, which are pretty numerous: 1. The traffic. The original game had some janky traffic but somehow this game's is worse. I was penalized over $100k (before disabling this) because two cars in front of me on the highway crashed into each other and of course since I'm driving a bus there's not enough time for me to stop. At certain intersections the cars just slam into each other which is kind of funny but it's mostly annoying. Cars are overly deferential when giving left turns to traffic even though they could just go. It seems like they haven't improved this much since the first iteration. 2. The map itself has a few key deficiencies, namely that the second floor of the bus depot where the intercity buses go has only a single exit that deposits you straight into the highway, meaning if... say, you need to go the other direction towards Alcatezlar, you have to drive all the way around and backtrack. Very stupid design. 3. The lines/routes are also goofy. They have an arbitrary limit of 30 stops per line and you do now have two-way stops meaning you can, on paper, make them longer. However... the game never actually gives you the chance to drive routes in reverse when they're two-way so it's mostly cosmetic. Loop lines do not actually properly loop either, meaning once you get to the last stop it doesn't start over the line just ends. Giving players the option to continue would be nice. 4. The economics and overall simulation really don't make a ton of sense. From a pure mechanics standpoint the cheapo diesel buses like the Citaro C & Lion's City 12 and regular are far and away the most economical of the buses you could buy, it's not even close. Each line you create does have a rider detail section telling you how many people are actually riding on the line each day and the buses occupancy based on capacity and I've never seen a line, no matter how I configured it, go north of like 850 people per day. Transit planning concepts such as having north-south or east-west crosstown arterial routes with high capacity buses simply are not things that appear to be simulated in this game, meaning bendy buses or double deckers almost never make economic sense. Improving or decreasing frequency also doesn't seem to have a huge impact on this either. If your goal is to make money, buy as many Citaros as you can. You really don't need anything else, it's purely cosmetic. 5. Scheduling in this game is somehow worse than in previous games. You spend an enormous amount of time sitting at a stop, doors open, doing nothing. It might be kind of cool if passengers could walk up to the bus before departure like IRL but they never do. So in practicality to complete the story mode as advertised, you spend just as much time sitting still looking at the bus as you actually do driving it. I have tried every setting I could think of to correct this in the game to no avail. It's very boring, honestly. Most of the time I just give up on trying to be on schedule and complete the route while ignoring the timer. The previous iteration was better about this. At least give us the option to turn it off. 6. The pedestrians in this game are somehow better than the last game and worse. Better in the sense that you seem to be penalized less when the idiot creatures run headlong into the side of your bus at crosswalks (which happens sometimes, still). But literally every time before they get on the bus or off it, they just stand still at the stop and stare at their phones like zombies. They don't walk off, they don't cross the street in front of you, the city is far more detailed but a lot more lifeless. 7. Keeping that passengers note, buses feel a lot more empty in this game than they were in the previous one. It had half-baked demand mechanics where you were supposed to balance out the demand stops with the drop-off stops which meant if you did it right even some bendy buses would actually fill up with people. I've played quite a lot of this game at this point and I can safely say I have seen on one hand the amount of times I've actually managed to fill a bus up, and this doesn't seem to matter much based on route configuration. It's not like the game really gives you anything to go on, we don't even have the stupid demand signals like the previous game did. Overall, if you're just looking for a chill game and don't care too much about the mechanics, it's a great buy. I've gotten my enjoyment out of it. If you're looking for something that lets you actually get your feet wet into the simulation bits like managing capacity, trying to optimize for ridership, coverage, etc. Then look elsewhere because this game is more about driving than it is about anything else. Hope this helps!
I experienced several game-breaking bugs that currently make the game pretty much unplayable. First off, the AI traffic is terrible - drivers often stop randomly in the middle of the road and can't follow basic traffic rules. Just like in Bus Simulator 21, they still have that "overly friendly" issue where they’ll always yield and let you go, even when they clearly have the right of way, which really breaks the immersion. To make matters worse, pedestrians frequently spawn in the middle of the street or freeze on crosswalks. When you try to drive, you either phase right through them or they literally teleport inside your bus, which triggers a black screen and teleports your vehicle to a random spot on the map, I don't know why. Optimization is also lacking. On medium/high settings, I only get around 50 FPS on my setup. It’s technically playable, but far from smooth. It’s a shame because the game definitely has potential. The graphics look great, and the physics and bus handling are a noticeable upgrade from the previous entry. However, in its current state, the major bugs just ruin the experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the game right now. I ended up refunding it, but I’ll definitely check it back out once the devs release some solid patches. I wish the developers the best, the core game has a lot of promise, it just needs work. Edit: Also I couldn't get 100% force feedback working for my Moza R5 with TSW wheel. At faster speeds and crashes I definetely felt something, but basic centering didn't work at all. I don't know if it's my fault or the game just doesn't support it at the moment.
Disappointingly, I cannot recommend this title. I suggest you play Bus Simulator 21 instead. As were many others, I was so excited when this title was announced and anxiously awaited release. Unfortunately, the game is simply lacking – in everything. Even with 6 years between titles, I wasn’t expecting a complete remake, but rather a much more polished, immersive continuation of BS’21. What we received actually feels like a downgrade. It is painfully apparent that this title was rushed – thrown together and pushed out as soon as possible. It is like visiting a fine arts museum only to encounter paintings from preschoolers. Addressing the elephant in the room first: Yes, there are a ton of bugs. But I do see the studio actively working to fix as many bugs as they can as quickly as they can, so I tip my hat to them in that regard. The problem is it simply should never have been released in this state to begin with. Period. Honestly though, the bugs are not what is making the game bad – because even if you look past all the bugs, the game at its core is just not that great. The game world is much crisper thanks to Unreal Engine – what is there is clearly in high definition (how nice depends on your setup/settings, of course). But I find the world to be... honestly… depressing. Even choosing the cinematic color mode which promises a more vibrant, saturated visual, the world looks very drab… very basic and boring. The world should be much more developed than it is. BS’21 gave us 2 entire maps – decently sized maps, I might add. BS’27 gives us 1 map – no bigger and no more detailed than before. I also feel as though the buses are modeled and rendered more poorly than in BS’21. Many of the buses from the predecessor make a return appearance, which I am fine with, except I found myself not enjoying the visuals of what used to be my favorite buses in this newest edition. Other visual oddities make the game less enjoyable – for example, if you enjoy using mouse steering, even though the game gives you a key bind to activate freely looking around, it does not work – there is no way to look around if you opt to use mouse steering. What bothers me the most are the little things. The little extras and the little customizations that really brought the game to life and allowed you to make the game your own. Just like in BS’21, there is a railroad crossing and train tracks. Except this time around, the crossing does not work, and no trains traverse the rails. How exciting. Think you are going to give all your buses unique names? Think again. Excited about new bus customizations? Don’t be. There are around 5 new wraps – the other dozen or so are regurgitated from BS’21. I guess all our buses are supposed to look like vintage throwbacks? There are an extremely limited number of decals and in BS’27 you cannot move or resize them – you either place them in predetermined locations or not at all. See an AI bus moving along the map? Click on it for all the details! Except you can’t. Joining an AI bus to ride along or take it over is next to impossible. Not only the map, but the entire UI is a complete disaster. Many of the options you had in BS’21 are simply not there. Information is even harder to find and understand. Hardly anything is explained to you. Creating bus routes is a completely random guessing game – there is no strategy as the route balancing game mechanic from BS’21 is gone. The scores you receive from driving a bus route are not straightforwardly understood. You have little control over many so-called game mechanics like your profitability (continue to blindly fiddle with your bus routes, I suppose), company coverage (it takes into account the entire map – even the areas you cannot access yet – of course your score will be low), and your reputation (based on customer reviews, which can be unpredictable and odd). I will give credit where credit is due. My biggest pet peeve from BS’21 has been (mostly) resolved. Previously, if you got close to where a bus was supposed to be on the map, it would fall out of the sky, an AI driver would have to board, start the bus up, do everything else to get it ready for action, and finally…eventually, start driving. Now, when approaching a location where another bus is supposed to be located, it is already there! Of course, the bus is clearly turned off and stationary, but it does get going a lot quicker than before. I will take the win! Not to be all negative, the game does contain positive vibes as well. On its most basic level, it is a “bus simulator” and I do find myself enjoying hoping in the driver’s seat to run routes. I plan to continue to invest a little time in playing and progressing through the story, especially seeing as I have already made the purchase. Thanks for your time and happy gaming!
My PC couldn't get to the game menu. The game has crashed my whole PC several times. I asked for a refund. Not worth my time to figure out how to make it start. No percentage to see the loading status, no info whatsoever why the circle is going round and round and then crashes. My playing time is actually watching a loading screen for 6 times.
