the story of bunny quest centers around a rabbit getting a family's house ready for easter, when he suddenly has to realize all the decorations are gone, and of course his younger bunny buddies are to blame. it's your typical match-3 with power-ups such as bombs or arrows clearing lines in certain directions, created by matching more and more eggs. there are also carrots and cupcakes to gather by simply clicking on them, and on top of clearing all the tiles on every level, coins have to be taken to the bottom of the screen as well. these resources are used to buy decorations for the family, but it's just an optional side-thing, though you'll have all the pieces unlocked by the end as they're part of the levels (match paintbrushes to paint an egg on the next level and reveal more tiles on the current one, scissors open a box of decorations and also reveal more tiles, and watering cans do the same). there are 95 levels, each room in the house has 20-odd, starting with a hidden object scene and various other puzzle types scattered around, like painting eggs, swapping rings, simon says with flowers and a bee, stuff like that. they're not skippable, nor are they difficult, but hints are available and there are not many of them, just enough to provide some variety without overstaying their welcome. the graphics are fine, there are multiple cutscenes, sound effects are good too (except the baby noises made by bunnies in the hidden object scenes), and the music is surprisingly jazzy. separate volume settings are available, as well as windowed mode, but it's only 800x600, can't be resized, nor can it be changed back to full screen without restarting the game, at least it didn't work for me. no timer, no move limit, levels aren't replayable, only if you start a new profile, but I had enough resources to buy one of every decorative item without paying any attention to prices or spending extra time on collecting more, though I didn't always go for the most expensive ones. you can take your time on levels and farm carrots and whatnot if you so desire, plus sell items you don't want, so it shouldn't be a problem either way. running out of moves doesn't result in a shuffle, which would be pretty bad, but it only happened to me once and levels aren't too long, so again, it shouldn't be a huge issue. bunny quest is an innocent, charming little match-3 with a relatively low price, can be completed in about 4 hours without too much difficulty, though there were a couple levels where I had to make an effort to create appropriate power-ups for hard-to-reach places. it won't change the world, but it's not a bad addition to your collection, especially if you like bunnies or have kids.
Follow our Curator Group for more reviews
Bunny Quest is a typical match 3 game with simple mini-games between each level. The match 3 genre is extremely saturated and they tend to feel the same, so it is difficult to rate them. Bunny Quest really plays about the same as the rest, with some slightly different power-ups. I would give this a neutral review if Steam had the option, because it's an okay game for the match 3 genre.
It's not really that bad, but... There is only a single soundtrack. You might feel like it's a relaxing experience whilst playing the Living Room... Up until you get to the Garden. There you will see how unforgivable the game becomes. The major problem is with you running out of moves and things working against you... In order to have no moves. IF you get no moves? You gotta re-do everything. The game don't give a sheet if you have one single square to clear. YOU ARE DONE!!! Ugh......... (There are no power ups to help either......) Oh and also -> The game will never explain what the items on the board do or how to clear obstacles. You have to figure it all out by yourself. Like for example: you can click the carrots/cupcakes. They also remove yellow/metal squares, as long as they are on it. Horseshoes, which you think just disappear as you double click them? If you take the horseshoe and click on a spot of your choosing -> They will clear that spot for you. There game... I did your freaking job for you!!! To clear obstacles: Collect enough paintbrushes/scissors/third item and then it will activate a "non-power up" -> It's an "obstacle remover thing". This isn't a complaint... But the faces of the main bunny freak me the f out. >.>........... Did he smoke too many carrots? Anyway that's it. Just uh... If you wanna waste time and suffer... I guess you know what to do.

straight forward match 3 with a few fun puzzles
There is only one (1) short jingle for music....and it is horrible. But that's not all about this game. It is cheap...both price and creation. There are so many levels were you can't finish the game because the starting positions are working against you. Anyway, with so much other Match3 games around nobody needs this shovelware.
Great fun game. Plenty of levels. Only on second stage but doesn't seem too hard at the moment.
In this video I take a look at Bunny Quest,* a casual match three game from HH-Games. This is an older title that's been re-released to Steam in time for Easter. There isn't much in the way of story as it launches the match three games at you hard and fast, every so often stopping for a mini game or to let you buy something for the diorama. It has its own unique way of doing things with collectibles needing to be gathered by clicking them when they appear on the grid and power up items need to be matched to charge the power on levels that need them so you can clear the affected squares. I did get a difficult level and ended up with no moves left, if I hit the hint button it showed nothing, so I had to restart the level and play a bit smarter. Ultimately the game shows its age but the match three game play was very challenging and very well designed. It's great for any match three fan.
