«Season Match 4»
Only 4 hours of playtime to finish the story! ONLY FOUR HOURS!!! More if you want to get all the achievements, like lose 5 times! I couldn't even figure out how to get 3 stars continously, let alone lose! AND this game is NOTHING LIKE THE OTHERS IN THE SERIES! THe only thing that is the same is the characters. Nothing else. The game is not timed per se but has a set number of moves you are supposed to use to finish your task (get x many red gems, clear all the stone blocks, etc.). Problem is, some of the levels there was no way to do that unless you used the 4 bonuses, which I rarely used because I like to manipulate the board to do what I have to, not just magically throw some fireworks at it to clear a third of the board! But if you're like me and you run out of turns it does not end in defeat, no it offers to let you continue for a measly 5 gold pieces (you get tons of gold, I was never even near running low on them. Same goes for potions and flowers, the other forms of currency. Run out of bombs? No problem just throw some flowers at them and you are restocked. And if you are running low on flowers you can easily get some for free, just use one potion on the specific round soil patch and the flowers will grow while you play the levels, then you can harvest them. Same with potions, running low? just use some flowers to start the water fountains and after awhile they will give you potions. Again, like the gold I was never near empty of flowers and potions. SO I could afford tons of bonuses and use them all the time if I wanted. Seems kind of like cheating to me, though. Sound and Background music is okay, I guess, no issues there. In game achievements but not Steam ones yet. tl:dr Not like previous titles in series at all Only 4 hours of gameplay Game is easy with too much currency to continuously buy power-ups I wish I had gotten a refund instead of continuing play. BUYER BEWARE!

Embark on an adventure to recover the elixir and save your kingdom in Season Match 4. Season Match 4 is a casual/match 3 game, developed by Urse Games and published by HH-Games on the 21st of February on the Steam platform. The game is divided into three sections and consists of over 100 levels which include 90 main levels and 2 event levels per section. These event levels have 6 grids to complete within 24 hours in order to access its rewards, which are amulets and bonuses. Each section has 30 levels to complete, and you must achieve 3 golden stars to move to the next stage. You’ll also have four fountains and 3 flowerbeds in each of these segments. The fountain will give you elixirs while the flowerbeds will give you flowers. Bear in mind, it will take up to 20 minutes to generate both items. You’ll need plenty of elixirs to open each portal and flowers to buy in-game bonuses. Each level will have a different grid full of different coloured gems to match. Before you start each level, you’ll have access to 3 bonuses upfront if you wish. These bonuses will appear straight away on the grid to give you a head start when you match them with the same coloured gems. There are one or two goals to achieve for every level, such as matching a certain number of red gems, destroying 20 wooden blocks within the grid, or creating bonuses. What I like in this game is that you have to complete these goals within a specific number of moves. If you succeed, the number of moves that you haven’t used will be laid out on the grid in the form of blow-up bonuses, which shoot vertically and horizontally. You’ll also have access to additional bonuses in each of the levels if you need them. The important point is that if you run out of bonuses, you’ll need flowers to purchase them back. You might find more than once that you’ll need extra moves to finish the stage or even to get the 3 golden stars. If that’s the case, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase 5 extra moves at a time with gold coins, which you’ll receive when you successfully finish a stage as well as each time you acquire an in-game achievement. Nice, colourful graphics, and the music is well suited to the game (but thank God we can turn it off!). The game will take you around 7 hours to finish. Positives: ~~~~~~~ + Nice, colourful graphics + Over 100 levels + 7 hours gameplay + In-game achievements Negatives: ~~~~~~~~ - No trading cards as yet - No steam achievements as yet Season Match 4 is an enjoyable match 3 game for all ages! 7/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes. The game is very poorly made. While there is almost never a noteworthy story in this type of game, here it is basically nonexistant. What little there is reads like an old machine translation with horrible grammar that was manually changed to introduce spelling errors as well. While the first 3 games of this series had Steam achievements, this one doesn't. Instead, there are ingame achievements, but some of them don't even work at all. Just as an example, there is one for beating successive levels with 3 stars, you need 10x 3 stars in a row. But the counter only goes up to 4, after that it resets to 0 even if you continue to successively get 3 stars. Another one is for playing on multiple days in a row. While playing each day for 3 days, the counter for that stayed at 0 the entire time. Besides achievements, there are quite a few more bugs, f.e. earned gold randomly resetting, rarely an unresponsive row of gems (2nd from the top for me, couldn't move anything from there without restarting) and graphics elements that are stuck in front of the screen. There are two types of resource farmers that can be upgraded to level 3, then it loops around to level 1 instead of being capped. The game is quite short with 90 levels devided into 3 worlds. There is no world selection, so once you get to the next world, you loose access to the levels and resource farmers before the new one. If you beat the 3rd world, you just stay there, but your resource farmers get reset to level 1 for some reason. There are some bonus levels which are only accessible for a limited time and one of them is completely unsolvable. It requires you to clear 9 things of a certain type that isn't even implemented in the game. The artwork looks nice, but other than that the game is an incompetently thrown together mess. Definitely not worth your time.
Season Match 4 is quite different compared to the previous 3 games, and not in a good way. It is heavily focused on power-ups. I would consider most later levels very hard, if not impossible to complete without using power-ups. And don't get me wrong, power-ups are earned plenty in-game, no IAP or anything. But the result is the same: it doesn't feel rewarding to complete the levels. And that's the biggest problem. Visuals and sound effects are nice, like the previous games, story is okay (I don't care about it, to be honest), but the gameplay is lacking. A lot. Shame. I expected better. My advice? Play the previous games, they are better.
Nope. It starts not badly for a match 3 game but bugs and unwinnable levels that never should have gone live begin to pop up. And neither distributor or developers are answering. Not worth of your money.
Enjoyed the other Season Match games? Well, this one is nothing like it. You don't "click" Match-3... You literally Match-3. Sure there are same characters, but... This game makes you wait for power ups and other things... It has spelling mistakes and it felt like not much went into it... Sure I couldn't pass level 17 in SM2... But at least it didn't break and characters knew how to speak properly... So if you want a game where you wait for bonuses and may not finish some levels due to bugs... Go for it! :<
I've played a variety of match 3 games and unfortunately I find this one more frustrating than fun. What's the point then?
