Amazing game! i love the original buffet knight and this just adds more to an already great game with it's new powers and cool bosses. even tho it might be a little grindy for 100%, i still give this game a 9.2/10
I played this game live and my head literally exploded on stream that this was made with RPG Maker. This is so smooth, visually impressive, full of depth and most importantly, FUN! I had a blast playing Buffet Knight and I could definitely see people getting lost in it, it was hard to pull away. Stream: https://www.youtube.com/live/MbpJ2egPOog?si=PF4vG6UOCyTaF1Sv
The pixel art is vibrant and cozy, perfectly capturing a vibe that feels both retro and fresh. Particularly loved the fetch-quest tasks that reminded me of GB/GBA LoZ games. Yet another great example that proves indie games don’t need a ridiculously long story to be unforgettable. Grab your fork and dive in!
Probably my favorite Zeldalike in a long time. And there are some great ones out there! It's not as huge or ambitious as others, but everything it does, it does really well. The map isn't gigantic, but there are no throwaway screens, and no irritatingly designed ones, either. The special abilities actually have a decent amount of variety. The "inhale" mechanic has great flow. Good QoL. Good writing: nothing feels forced, it's light and fun. It's really hard to find things to criticize here. Chef's kiss.
Played this right after Janosik 2 and they both have the same vibe - fun game in an old-school style with just a wacky amount of hidden secrets and powerups that you absolutely have no need for. The same thing happens in both, if you're an explore-type player you end up with so much health and money that the boss fights become trivial, and that's okay if you're playing a game for fun not for a challenge. I feel like this might have been a better opinion if the game at the very start hadn't asked "easy or hard" without any context. Maybe calling it "easy or normal" would have swayed me to pick the harder option, it was unclear whether easy meant *easy* or just "easier than a SNES game", and it turns out it meant really easy. So I don't know if, on hard, it would still be super easy, but given *how* easy it was on easy I think it's likely that it would. That said, some things about it are less easy - there's several side-puzzles I didn't complete because the flow of the game was a bit weird. You get "essences" from doing various things, but nothing gives any clue as to what you're supposed to do with an essence - I found that out later from a guide, but too late because at that point a bug forced me down a game-ending path when I tried to trade in my essences, which is apparently a prerequisite of solving several of the last few puzzles.
This feels like the Link to the Past sequel I've been waiting on for 30 years. Amazing game.
It's just fun to go around eating stuff, art and music are sweet, satisfying progression, great puzzle design, crazy endings and secrets. Just play it.
這個價錢能有這樣的份量跟表現我覺得很不錯了 美術跟設定都十分出色 結局也有驚喜 隱藏要素也真的設計的很用心 喜歡地圖探索跟收集要素的話十分推薦
