Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay here: https://youtu.be/PhrqwQh-9R0 I had fun playing this game. It's a match 3 / bubble shooter / Zuma type game. There are some interesting gameplay mechanics that makes this one interesting to play in VR. You can grab the "puzzle" and spin it around. You can shoot the bubbles to match 3, but there's several power-ups along the way, along with bubbles flying in towards the puzzle, with shields blocking your shot, & your shots spinning the puzzle around making for frantic gameplay which requires quick thinking. There are 20 levels. I was only able to get to the 7th level after multiple tries and somehow I'm #6 on the leaderboard, so apparently, I did better than most. You're only using one of the motion controllers, but you can switch them. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 72 fps (Q3 default). I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You can play comfortably seated. Rate ?/10.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. This game is simply awesome. Such a simple concept: shoot the bubbbles and match 3 in a row. But that's not all, more bubbbles come in from unknown directions! You can spin the puzzle though to prevent them from causing a game over. So while shooting bubbbles, you need to keep track of where they are coming from and predict the inertial impact so it doesn't mess up your shot. Meanwhile you are looking for patterns to exploit, as once a bubbble set is cut off from the center the whole branch disappears. So what's your strategy, work from the outside in to prevent a game over? Or, you could go straight for the center and cut off an entire branch of the shape, getting to the next level quicker. The variety of shapes makes this question less straightforward, and very rewarding when you guess correctly. Powerups like bombs, lasers, and universal bubbbles mix things up, allowing you to take shortcuts and test your aiming abilities. When you are at the very edge of defeat, a single bomb in the right place can cut off that troublesome branch. Nothing is more intense than seeing the red barrier signifying danger and working to delete that branch before *pop*. The farther you go, the more variants of bubbbles you get, making for a nerve-racking experience. The reward of seeing that new design after a level completion is something else, though. This is an amazing game to use when you want a break from something intensive like beat saber, it's quick fun and great for parties! And for this price it's an absolute steal.
Bubbbles is a paid VR match 3 puzzle game. It worked on my Index and HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. It is fun for a while. Maybe buy, if you like casual VR puzzle games. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. ViVE VR curator group
This is your typical match 3 type game with the quirk that the puzzle is a 3d shape which spins on an axis as you're trying to line up shots. You have some control over the movement using the joystick on your controller. Audio/visuals are on point. I found it to be a nice diversion and a lot of fun.
Bubbbles is one of those games you didnt know you needed in your life. The game has you matching colors and textures of bubbles in a unique, 3d puzzle. You find yourself being sucked into the gameplay almost immediately. Although it is simple to play, gaining a high score has you exercising your mind in the best way possible. Making the wrong move can hinder your next move, which can then lead to a game over instantly. The critical thinking almost makes you feel like you are in a new version of Tetris. The mixed reality version of this game just adds a whole layer to it that is so cool. There is nothing better than seeing a 3D puzzle with all of its colors in your own home. The game does have power ups that you can use such as bombs to clear large sections and even a laser beam to clear a path. The best part is the whole time there are more bubbles flying from ever direction which come in faster and faster over time. The shield power up can help you deflect some of those incoming bubbles and it is my favorite power up. This game is a hidden gem and totally worth the price. If you like puzzles this game is for you. This also makes for a great game to show off VR in a simple way!
