It saddens me to have to say this, but I cannot recommend this game. I adore so many aspects of it but it falls so short where it really counts. First off, this is not a VR game. This is a flat game where you have to awkwardly fiddle with VR controls to view something on a flat screen. For the life of me I cannot fathom why you would spend the time to design and build these marvelous little worlds and beautiful aesthetic and then lock it behind a telescope. Maybe you get to experience them more fully eventually as is suggested in the trailers (I certainly hope they aren't false advertising) but from what I've seen it's a huge disappointment. The music and art are incredible, but I cannot say the same about the narration or the puzzles. I won't fault the voice actor for not giving an oscar winning performance, it's decent enough, but I definitely have some problems with the script. Right off the bat it has some weird judgmental overtones and does very little to ingratiate itself with the audience. Along with not at all being helpful to actually understanding the puzzles or how to interact with the world. Often times the solution will come from randomly waggling levers around as opposed to purposefully solving challenges. Sometimes the crosshair needs to be placed on the target to trigger it, sometimes it'll be off in the corner because you have to get other elements to align. Let me reiterate, you are not interacting with these objects directly instead you are using a virtual analog stick to move them around. This game could be played on a flat screen and you would lose nothing from the experience which I think is one of the cardinal sins of a VR game. I know this is long winded and I haven't experienced everything the game has to offer (if it can keep my attention long enough) but I felt passionately about the short time I had with it. Because there are so many great elements but they were delivered so haphazardly. If you're going to mention The Little Prince and show off all these beautiful designs and then not let the player actually see them?? It's a huge betrayal when you were so close to greatness. If you're reading this devs, I want to commend you on your work but pleaaaaase allow the full exploration and interaction that your designs deserve.
👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group
English: -------------------------------------> Stargaze by Played with Fire is by no means completely burnt. A cute puzzler in which the puzzles are solved via telescope diagnosis. In Stargaze we take on the role of an astronomer. We sit in the middle of a platform floating freely in space in front of us is a huge telescope that takes up almost the entire space. In order to explore and examine the celestial bodies and finally, of course, to categorize them properly, we have to control the telescope with various levers and buttons. Next to us there is also a huge tome, here all discoveries and the like are entered. This sounds more complicated than it is. We usually have to do nothing more than move the lens with a control stick on the telescope, focus pretty precisely on certain points, take some photos by pressing a button, and enter the information into the book. So basically, we're constantly realigning the telescope. If successful, the story of the game continues and eventually we move on to the next planet. The gameplay of Stargaze is complicated, either almost a bit too complex or even too simple. Depending on which elements we decide to work on, it is sometimes more insightful and sometimes more difficult. This is partly due to the interesting controls themselves, but also that you are often "chasing the pixel". A little more guidance for the player would certainly be helpful here and there. A little trial and error on the positions of the telescope is enough to solve even a puzzle we didn't understand, but I don't find it useful. For hardcore puzzlers, however, this will certainly not be a big problem. Operating the telescope is also not without difficulties. If we reach for a lever, for example, we have to find the right position for our hand and can only then access it. The position is briefly displayed. Also the levers and buttons can only be used when they are displayed in color. This is easy to learn but completely unnecessary to artificially slow down the gripping mechanism. Stargaze can be played through in about two hours if you are good and have mastered the controls, worth a look for lovers of the puzzle genre. In addition, there is also a demo. 👀A look at distant worlds is available on my curator page. 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

 Follow Main group
 Follow Second group

Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/AIQdXFhedrU Stargaze VR is a puzzle game with a very simple mechanic which gets surprisingly challenging in the later worlds. You're basically a magical astronomer and you use a knob on your telescope to explore the area around until you find the correct spot to unlock new discoveries. With later worlds, you will have to link several spots together to solve the puzzle and that's where things do get complex. The game took me approximately 2 hours to get to the final stage, but I was unable to solve the ultimate question. There are 6 total themed worlds to explore. The game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 frames per second. You do have full locomotion, but no snap or smooth turning. However, almost all the interactions happen right in front of you. You can play this whole game comfortably seated. I think this game is targeted towards children. The visuals, sounds, story, & music are all well-suited for this target audience. There are nice production values (it even has VOs). However, this game is a little on the expensive side given the amount of content, but the production values do sort of justify the price. If you're an adult gamer, I doubt this game will appeal to you, but it is perfect for families with kids. Although, I did get a free Steam key to review this game, in fact, I had already played it on Viveport Infinity. On Viveport, I did experience a game-breaking bug that wasn't present on the Steam version (the 4th world had a bug where I couldn't progress because the animation for one of the progress points wouldn't complete). However, I did experience a save bug on the Steam version where my entire progress was wiped. It only happened once and I did stop and start gameplay several times. Also, it seems like maybe the hitbox registration may need some fine tuning as there were several times where I had a puzzle solved, but it just wouldn't take on the initial attempt. Personally, I would not say I enjoyed the game, but I also wasn't the intended audience. The game does have some charm and while you're just moving a knob around trying to find the right spot, I actually did find it challenging, especially towards the latter half of the game. I could certainly see kids enjoying this game. It has a science theme, but it doesn't take itself too seriously and the story should be interesting enough for the intended audience. This was my first VR experience and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Stargaze really gave me a sense of being in outer space, uncovering secrets of forgotten planets. What I liked the most is the game's atmosphere, created by a mix of really polished artstyle and outstanding soundtrack. I've found the whole experienced to be one of a kind. The puzzle themselves I've found to be creative and satisfying, albeit not that difficult. While I like my puzzles to be really complex, it didn't really bother me in this case that they were a bit on the easy side. All things considered I had a feeling that the devs wanted to make a game that's more about the journey and exploration, rather than about some overly convoluted puzzles. I think they succeeded. I think Stargaze is really worth checking out. Thumbs up from me!
Did you ever miss admiring illustrations in your favorite childhood book? Gazing at every tiny nook, absorbing every litle detail? Stargaze is this and more - as you can now affect all those magical miniatures. Help things happen, support cute little worlds and their creatures in achieveing knotty, clever and often pretty surprising goals. Enchanting.
This game allows you to dive into fairytale world that really reminds of Little Prince! Stunning experience with a lot of clever and fun puzzles. I also loved artstyle which is both beautiful and orginal. Overall great and very unique thing to play!
Wanna feeling yourself like those old long beard wizard sitting at the top of tower (in this case outer dimension) and fidget around the god's know what arcane equipment with enormous telescope? This game given you just that experience, You almost felt like Merlin (From Sword in the Stone movie). As for what you'll get here aside a fun roll play? Well, A very unique and beautiful art style. This game is a semi 2.5D rigging animation with 3D models which are done very superb in detail. Even by original price tag, The game still worth it, So giving it a spin and for once in every while. Pretend yourself a busy wizard.

I play this game once and after come back my game progress loss, So I must start over again. So my play time will not reflex my real playthrough time. This game has a good atmosphere for environment. But the main gameplay is on telescope. You will operate telescope with some joystick on telescope (move, take photo, zoom in/out, rotate left and right). This game is like a point and click game but you can't click. You must move telescope until you found some interactive object and wait a while for trigger. The down side of this game is boring puzzle. Most thing that you could do is random move until it's trigger some event. Take 3+1 photo for each world. After you trigger some event you will get clue for fill the book in your right side. If you find some spot that can take photo, it will print on left side and you can fill photo to the book. After you done everything in a world, you will unlock new world and repeat the same process again and again in new world.
