Reviews
A short-and-sweet point-and-click adventure game, with witty writing and appealing artwork.
I thought more about my review and felt like I was being too harsh for the amount of effort the Dev has put into the game. Yes its a short game but this game comes fully voiced and with a unique art style. I will say for full price I don't personally feel like its worth it. But 3 AUD for an hour long experience isn't too bad. I would like to see more content in the future, however an hour long point and game experience is considered very short. IMO point and clicks should be at least 2 hours min. 6.5/10 Old Review You can tell that the Dev put a lot of time and effort into this game... and as much as I would love to recommend it. I just can't... it's way too short. 30 mins of gameplay for 8 AUD is well... in my opinion not worth it. I got it on sale and it still doesn't feel worth it. It feels like a demo, or a free episode that gets you hooked on the next parts.. All I keep thinking are the other episodes just as short? and not wanting to chance it.. Which honestly is a shame. The humour didn't quite land with me but I can appreciate the effort and how someone else may enjoy it. Unfortunately with a lack of option for neutral review I asked myself would I recommend this to my friends and then answer was no. Beautifully animated, surprising voice acting, great music/sound design. But yeah I just can't. I have legitimately played demos that are longer.
Fun little adventure game, laughed my ass off! Its the most South African game I've ever played. Literally costs less than 2 litres of milk from a convenience store...
I mean...I really love this game, the 90s 2000s cartoon typeshi (what). Initially bought it bc it reminded me of rocko's modern life. but it´s WAY too short. finish a can of soda short. and now I have to wait a whole lot more probably for an episode short like this one too. please make em longer. pd that's what she said
Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 – Get da MILK! is an indie point-and-click adventure that immediately establishes its identity through absurd humor, hand-crafted visuals, and a strong sense of personality. Developed and published by MIKDOG, the game embraces classic adventure design while building its own style around chaotic comedy and surreal storytelling. The premise sounds intentionally ridiculous from the start: Bru simply wants milk for coffee. What begins as a mundane errand quickly evolves into an unpredictable journey filled with strange encounters, eccentric characters, and bizarre situations that constantly push the experience into unexpected territory. The game takes inspiration from traditional adventure titles without feeling trapped by nostalgia. Exploration revolves around interacting with environments, gathering useful objects, solving puzzles, and speaking with unusual residents scattered throughout its world. Fans of older point-and-click adventures will immediately recognize familiar design philosophies, but Bru & Boegie distinguishes itself through its humor and unconventional presentation. Nearly every interaction feels built to entertain. Clicking objects often leads to jokes, strange observations, or dialogue that exists purely to make players smile rather than simply moving objectives forward. One of the biggest strengths lies in its presentation. The hand-drawn visual style creates a world that feels lively and distinctive. Character animations carry exaggerated energy, environments burst with personality, and the artistic direction avoids chasing realism in favor of building a memorable atmosphere. The game feels handcrafted in a way many independent projects strive for but fail to achieve. Every location appears designed to reinforce the strange comedic tone, helping establish an identity that feels authentic rather than derivative. Comedy drives nearly every aspect of the experience. The writing leans heavily into absurd situations, playful dialogue, and unexpected humor that gives the adventure its charm. Some jokes land through visual gags while others rely on strange conversations or deliberately ridiculous scenarios. The game understands that its greatest strength is entertainment value rather than complexity. It wants players laughing at unexpected moments and rewarding curiosity through optional interactions. Exploring environments becomes enjoyable because players never know whether examining an object will reveal useful information or simply another joke. Puzzle design remains approachable throughout the adventure. Rather than creating intentionally difficult obstacles designed to frustrate players, Bru & Boegie focuses on keeping progression smooth and accessible. Solutions generally make sense within the game’s bizarre logic, allowing players to enjoy the flow of exploration without becoming trapped by obscure requirements. This design choice fits the overall tone perfectly. The game values pacing and enjoyment above challenge, making it welcoming even for players who may not normally spend time with traditional adventure games. Voice acting and audio work contribute significantly to the atmosphere. Fully voiced dialogue gives additional life to characters while strengthening the comedic delivery. The soundtrack complements the absurdity without overwhelming it, supporting both quieter exploration moments and stranger encounters equally well. Audio presentation helps reinforce the game’s personality and elevates scenes that might otherwise rely solely on visual humor. Another element that gives Bru & Boegie its own identity is how confidently it embraces its cultural influences and individuality. Rather than feeling like a direct imitation of classic genre favorites, it carries a unique creative voice throughout its world-building and character interactions. That originality makes the experience stand out in a crowded indie space where many projects rely heavily on familiar formulas without adding enough personality of their own. The game’s most noticeable limitation comes from its runtime. As the opening episode of a larger planned series, the experience is relatively brief. Players looking for an extended adventure may finish faster than expected, especially those experienced with point-and-click games. However, the shorter length also prevents ideas from overstaying their welcome. The game introduces its world, establishes its humor, and leaves players interested in seeing where future episodes might go. Replay value largely comes from discovering optional jokes, hidden interactions, and alternative dialogue moments that players may overlook during an initial playthrough. The writing encourages experimentation, and completionists who enjoy uncovering every strange detail will likely spend extra time revisiting conversations and exploring overlooked corners of the environment. Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 – Get da MILK! succeeds because it fully commits to its unusual vision. It never attempts to become a massive cinematic adventure or an intensely challenging puzzle experience. Instead, it focuses on delivering humor, charm, and personality through a compact experience that feels genuinely creative. The result is a memorable indie adventure that rewards curiosity and embraces absurdity without hesitation. Players searching for serious storytelling or demanding gameplay systems may not immediately connect with its comedic style. However, those willing to embrace weird humor, eccentric world-building, and classic adventure mechanics will discover an experience full of charm and originality. Bru’s mission to find milk may sound small, but the strange adventure surrounding it creates a surprisingly memorable first chapter that leaves players curious for whatever madness comes next. Rating: 8/10
Juego muy corto pero el personaje es graciosísimo. Como habla, y sus expresiones me han enganchado mucho. Pena que no esté traducido al español el segundo capitulo 😔
Really funny and great difficulty. You can
fit a whole human in your knickers
LOL.
