Brimstone Manor

Ho, hum! The story was over before it started, which is a pity as it had promise. The timeline moved too fast. Nothing was fleshed out and LIs declaring undying love without having really met you? If you can ignore that the whole story takes place in a week, there is plenty to unravel. I originally thought that having found one outcome, the rest would be easy and/or I could guess the rest, which is why i am still trying to find out a couple of things, so far unsuccessfully. Its definitely not bad enough to deserve a thumbs down, the bones of the story are good, and it would certainly be better for a bit of a polish, but the timeline might put you off to begin with. If you can ignore that, Brimstone Manor is somewhat of a hidden and frustrating gem, particularly if you know there are other endings and cannot find them!

Nicki is adorable and Lucifer is a good boy. 🐺 Overall, it's a fun IF game to pick up! Going to replay for some angels...

I think some of the reviews are definitely under-selling this IF. It has a really good story, loveable LI's, and some pretty good side characters too. While the story premise is something that I personally love, it does feel very rushed. There are particular characters who deserve more depth, mainly [spoiler] Nicki's mother. Darien, Michael and Nicki experienced a huge loss when she passed, and us as the MC knew nothing about what she was like. My first playthrough I romanced Darien, and decided to play neutral to the end, and during the final confrontation the MC said 'Nicki's mother wouldnt have wanted this' even though we knew nothing about her.[/spoiler] As I said already, some things definitely needed...just more, to feel complete as a reader. I'm not entirely sure if the book was 100% worth paying for, as it was very short, however I loved the story premise and romancing a demon <3

Played for the idea of angels and demons, stayed for the wholesome story line and taking care of the kid!

Really liked the story. its simple and sweet and the child your a nanny for is just darling. I really couldnt get into tall dark and brooding, or tall built and glamerous but for once I really did enjoy starting a relationship with a "person." Being of an older generation myself, i usually find gender neutral characters to be contrived, and likely just included to push the PC button. But this one really seemed interesting, and honestly it sort of makes sense as I find it hard to believe that Angels would have genders like we do anyway (just check out The Book and read about all the different ones. some have multiple heads, others multiple wings, some look like babies.... angels just arnt human so i wouldnt be surprised if they expressed their gender identities differently, assuming they have any at all.) On the down side, i wasnt able to achieve the ending I was aiming for. I tried the neutral path, tried stopping the "final" confrontation and getting everyone to be friends, and it simply didnt work. Not only that but i told off the reporter, expressed my dislike for him, and refused to tell him anything everytime he asked, caught his crony and made sure he lost his camera while chasing him off and still some how the reporter gets his scoop and exposes everything =( Needless to say the ending was very disappointing for me. Even though my LI was still interested in me, I lost my job and home and well it just sucked. I felt really bad for the father and son too. Still the story was interesting enough that ill try again to see if I cant get a better ending. I have a feeling there either is no neutral route, or its bugged... so Ill wait a few days to see if there is a patch before trying it again. All in all there is a heart touching story here, and if your into classic well built handsome men, I think either of the 2 main LIs will float your boat. Also the reporter's gender is player chosen, but to be honest they just gave me the creeps and all their interactions left me with the decided feeling they were just playing up that angle to get their story.
