Bridge to Another World: Secrets of the Nutcracker Collector's Edition

A good holiday season HOPA game. It's not especially long, but had some advantages over other "Christmas" games I've played: - the story is well-imagined and draws from the original without repeating it - there is variety both in the puzzles and the HO scenes - the music is relaxing and classical (and changes as appropriate), but isn't "Christmas music" - the secondary characters are relevant and well-designed, even if they don't have a lot of depth - the voice acting is... well, it varies in quality, but generally works with the characters If you're looking for a game that has lots of *low-key* Christmas flavour, this is a good choice. If you're looking for a more jolly game with Christmas carols or a modern holiday vibe, I'd suggest a different series. I got this game as a Christmas gift, and enjoyed playing it during the holiday season. [b]Overall:[/b] get it on sale and enjoy the art, story, and ambiance. Game play is fairly linear, and the bonus story is decent but short.

This is an enjoyable HOG game, if you like those types of games. The minigames aren't too terribly difficult (compared to others that I've seen in some games). I didn't need any hints and didn't use any skips. It just took some time to figure things out. This game has a guide, including a section that shows where the collectibles are. It has a map you can click on to travel and that shows where you've got activities you can do. It has multiple difficulty settings I also has 2 types of collectibles (Glass globes and morphing objects) You can also get other types of special items from completing the game. There's an extra chapter, which was interesting. The only negative I could find? The Mouse King's voice actor. It's like he just couldn't get interested enough to wake up and do his lines. Everything else was pretty and well done. I enjoyed the story, too. It's not what people are used to hearing when they hear about the Nutcracker. The story is significantly different. So, yeah, if you like Hidden Object Games (HOG's) or point/click adventure games, this one is a good choice, especially if you want something that has a Christmas theme.

3.5 out of 5 stars A good enough holiday game for the holiday season. If on sale and you want a Christmas themed game you could do a lot worse. This isn't a bad game at all. But it does lean towards the average, and honestly out of all "Bridge To Another World" series I played, this might be the weakest. The puzzles range from easy to mid difficultly. This game is HO heavy, but I did enjoy them. My favorite part of the game was easily playing the HO scenes. The music is lovely, and fits the theme of the game. I enjoyed it, and if you catch it on sale during the holidays, it won't hurt!

Owing to not having played the prior titles in a while, I am unsure how this game fits into the larger series overarching story… if there even is one. Anyway, in this one you have returned to visit an old friend during the holidays. One you have not seen since childhood. Upon arrival, you discover he is missing. And something very strange is afoot. HO scenes are challenging, minigames fun, and the plot interesting. Recommend getting in the bundle.

[h2] Rescuing Our Best Friend from the Troubled Toy World of Spielland [/h2] When I look at my games library to find something suitable for the festive holidays, I see that many of the games are hidden-object adventures. With several options available, it’s tough to choose what to play. It gets even trickier with how many different franchises there are. But thankfully, I was able to settle on one. When Marie was a little girl, she would visit her godfather Drosselmeyer’s toy workshop and spend time with her best friend, Fritz. Now that she is older, she decides to visit once more for Christmas. However, upon arrival, her best friend is nowhere to be found. In the process, she finds clues that take her to Spielland, a toy castle her godfather made so that she and Fritz could imagine a world ruled by toys. Was it really all make-believe? Can she find her best friend in this world of living toys that’s an adaptation of the Nutcracker story? Thankfully, with the [i]Bridge to Another World[/i] series, I am able to play any of the games in any order, as there aren’t any previous references/connections to other installments. At least as far as I can tell. As an adaptation of the Nutcracker story, this was a really good one. It takes some aspects from the original story, like the Mouse King, but uses said elements uniquely. In addition to that, this was an entertaining hidden object adventure game. There are a plentiful amount of HOPs and other minigames throughout the game. With this being the collector’s edition, the game also includes a lot of collectibles (morphing objects and snow globes), a nice bonus chapter, and a variety of difficulty settings. Furthermore, in-game achievements are also included, some of which require you to know the hidden object scenes like the back of your hand. The whole experience moves at a relatively good pace, and you can take your time, which makes it relaxing. The game is beautiful visually, and the graphics are excellent. I can honestly stare at the environments in these types of games for a long time. After playing, this has become an instant favorite of mine, and I would heartily recommend this during the holiday season. It makes me want to see what the rest of the [i]BtAW[/i] series has to offer! [h1] 4 out of 5 ★★★★☆! [/h1]

Meh. Main game = 2.5 hours and bonus = 30 min Difficulty = none. Almost everything is click-to-win. No brain power needed here Story = only good bit. actually something interesting for once (humans acting like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? revenge out of spite? torture animals for fun? crack addict narrator?) So if you want to kill a few hours it's decent if you get it on sale, especially around xmas, but it's as easy and cookie-cutter as they get
