Sent all my poor soldiers to their impending doom.
My review for this game is super overdue. I won’t lie, I really think this is one of the best turn-based strategy games that is SWAT themed. It allows you to pick your own special forces team and then customize their perks (that give different and helpful bonuses) and equip them with your choice of weaponry (from shotguns to sniper rifles), and the weapons themselves can be customized (scopes, grips, even trigger groups). There are also different game modes, like bomb defusal and one where you have to escape an onslaught of bad guys. I find the game really fun and easy to dump hours into. I think seeing how far you can push a team of guys until they are super OP, fully leveled up & geared up is great fun. I say for 10 bucks, it’s worth a shot if you are into these kinds of video games.

I couldn't really recommend it. Probably decent as a mobile game, but for PC there are too many alternatives that play far better and aren't as lacking in features. It has an ok start but you hit a wall of grind pretty quickly ~2hrs. If you're still sold on it, grab it on sale. Otherwise, I would recommend something like Chimera Squad, Tactical Breach Wizards, or Arma Tactics instead. +Choice of squad, classes +Loadouts +Difficulty options +Variety of equipment to purchase, unlock +Some voiced unit barks +Choices on level up, passive skills +Variety of missions -Male soldiers only -No key rebinding -No story -Major grind to unlock equipment -Achievement bugs -Barebones -Auto attacks only -No active skills -Quickly repetitive -Many locked missions, unclear unlocks
Could have been a great idea but it was sooo poorly executed, from the cluncky UI and interaction to just a poor experience overall. A far cry from the likes of XCOM.
Excellent game play, intuitive interface, and compelling mission design that ensures replayability.
Breach & Clear is a tactical strategy game that feels like XCOM in bite-sized, modern-military form. You plan your squad’s movements, execute careful room-by-room entries, and manage loadouts with the kind of precision that makes every shot matter. The game shines in its tactical combat, giving you that satisfying “aha” moment when a perfectly timed breaching maneuver wipes out a room without a scratch. Beyond that, the narrative is practically nonexistent; it leans heavily into a sandbox style, focusing on scenarios rather than story. If you’re like me and enjoy a good campaign, this can feel a little dry. As the hours pile up, the novelty starts to fade. Missions become repetitive and unlocking new squad types feels like the main incentive to keep playing. Unfortunately, the differences between squads aren’t always significant, so the grind can feel more procedural than strategic. Still, the core mechanics are solid, and it’s easy to see why tactical fans would enjoy it. A competent tactical strategy game, worth to buy on sale, Solid 7/10.
Great game!
