Boxuchan: The Visual Novel ~ Prologue

absolute cinema. so proud of boxuchan for putting this together. everything came out so well and so sincere. love the effort put into finding voice actors, the art, and music. so genuine and goofy fun.

I sat down and played this on stream. This was a funny and cute little visual novel. The music is well done, and same goes for all the art and background put into the game. Its amazing the see that someone like Nichole Goodnight was in this project. It has a lot of potential that could turn into something big. Cant wait to see where it heads if it becomes a full game. Absolute Cinema 10/10

I loved it the characters are fun and the story seems like it'll be a good one!

An incredible exploration of the human condition, utilizing the lense of anime fandom and the cultural impact of social ostracization due to hentai. Not since Tolstoy or Dostoyevsky have I seen the spiritual realities of the human experience laid so bare. My socks have been blown off so hard that my poor lil tootsies are freezing. A short but cozy start to the Boxuchan story! The art and music are a 10/10. Everyone did AMAZING with the voice acting. Elliot's bloopers at the end was funny as well! I would love to see where this project goes in the future!

This game is a short, simple, visual novel. It is obviously a passion project by the developer but it is a nice story told from two different perspectives. It doesn't take too long to play, in fact Steam tells me I spent 59 minutes playing it and I ran through both scenarios plus the bonuses that are unlocked by completing both. It is voice acted, which isn't a given on cheap visual novels, and the artwork is good. There is one error in the story but it is minor [spoiler]a character is described as crying crocodile tears (in both story arcs) ... but they are not doing this. Crocodile tears, by definition, are fake and [u]insincere[/u]. The characters tears in the situation given are [u]not[/u] insincere and hence cannot be crocodile tears[/spoiler] It would be nice if we get more stories of Claire and Elliot in the future.

as a first passion project, boxuchan is a great start. it's fun, silly, and at points really adorable. there was a few minor things such as "crocodile tears" that didn't quite make sense to me, and a small amount of mic pitching in some parts. but it's charming in it's own right. and i'd love to see more character depth. all in all. boxuchan is a solid 8/10 and i look forward to seeing more stuff on Elliot and claire hopefully
