Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Honestly I really enjoy it
After playing for 178 hours I think I can write some thoughts about the game. Generally it's very fun to play and gameplay-wise I like it. Movement is great, guns are good and it's nice to see some QoL features added like Big Encore Machines and saving collectibles from other save files. But there are a few moments that I think were poorly implemented I have a laptop below minimum requirements and it runs the game on the very minimum FHD settings, which is surprisingly nice. I've played it on a high end PC and it doesn't look that good even on badass settings at 4K resolution. I would say it's like a Borderlands 3 with better lighting. All the UE5 nanites and stuff isn't required for this game. People like the Borderlands games for gameplay and/or story. And yeah... story. We all remember that abomination of BL3 main story line and I would say they did better in this one, but still it's not good. Most of the story is lackluster. It's like: to kill the big guy you need to kill 3 other, then rekill one of them and here you are at the top of the tower. The ending is a bit weird because you just get some useless thing and then one character says "I think we got what we came for". The End. At least they didn't make the villain that obnoxious, but he appears for a few dialogues and then he's like: "Oh, you're here... let's fight". He can control people with bolts, but it seems like he's not in the mood for it) Also the world. I don't like the idea of the open world. It feels empty and useless. All locations look almost the same. The fauna consists of literally 4 animals: kratches (like rakks), manglers (like skaggs, but they are cats), creeps (like ratches or varkids) and wildhorns, which are the only one not copy-pasted from previous games. Mobs also include rippers (like bandits) and the order (like hyperion in bl2 with a few new enemies). You will see order and ripper mobs throughout the whole game, including all bounty packs. Most of the bosses are actually chunkier versions of normal mobs and are very boring. Vehicles are generic, but not bad. They just look different, but feel absolutely the same. I think implementing vehicles from BL3 with summoning them from any place would be a better idea. The last thing I want to complain about is legendaries and pearls. I love that we finally get pearls after all these years, but the first pearl I got was a world drop at level 11... And it's not my luck it's just how it is in this game. I've got like 50 world drop pearls in one playthrough. Legendaries are also common here. Not like in BL3, but still common. I would like to decrease the world drop chance of legendaries and pearls to make it feel more special. Also dedicated drop chances are broken. As far as I know the chance of dropping a dedicated legendary is 23% on UVH 7 and the chance for a dedicated pearl is 0.95%. Maybe I'm bad at math, but getting a pearl every 5-8 kills is not 0.95% (it's from Origo). Also some dedicated legendaries drop more often than others. I farmed Origo a lot and I noticed that Watts 4 Dinner drops are less common than Bottled Lightning or Kaoson. Class mod drops are also weird, because the chance of dropping a class mod not for your character on UVH 7 is 1,435% * 4 = 5,74% and for your character is 17,25%, but you get almost the same amount of both!!! One time I got three legendaries from a boss and all of them were world drops! That's it! The problems that I described are not huge problems. I still think this is a great game and I want people to remember it as such. It is possible for Borderlands 4 to be even a greater game in the future, but looking at the current set of DLC's it is hard to see that future

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Of the 12 markets with a position on both sides, 5 climbed and 3 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 47/day in the week to Sep 11 → 340.86/day in the week after.
One market had a chart position on both sides of this cut. One sale in one country is an anecdote — read it next to the store-wide figures below.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 41.86/day in the week to Jul 31 → 47.29/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you're not on reddit 24/7 you will enjoy the game, classic borderlands 2 humor with b3 gameplay and wonderlands builds. The open world can be hit or miss tho. People just have a hate boner for anything that isn't borderlands 2 (the only thing that stands the test of time is handsome jack, everything else falls short compared to the new games)
they don't sell super deluxe upgrade huh? why, do they hate money?
If you played any of the previous versions you won't be surprised. If you're new to the franchise go start with one.
im 8hrs in and having fun. ive played every single one with my brother, people are too harsh.
Fourderlands is the best 7/10 I've ever played, and is another great example of where Steam needs a 'meh' button. Generally, if you like BL3 or Tiny Tina's, and you want more of that you'll like this. If you thought that BL3 had too much story & personality youre in luck! BL4 has way less of both. If you just want to punch the gun box over and over again, BL4 is another chance to do that! In broad strokes, BL4 is an excellent, perhaps even top tier FPS entry. The combat has all the pieces. Each of the 3 major factions (and many sub factions) have very unique enemy types and interactions which keep every combat arena fresh. This is doubly true of places where the factions interact and where you can get 3 or 4 way battles. This gels well with the loot you get, which gives you tools to pick apart groups of enemies and beat them down. There is a story here, some cool moments and good vibes, and if you found the story of BL3 annoying (many did) this tones it down from 11 to 8 or 9. And as a coop game, its super fun. I've actually done most of my playtime in coop and have enjoyed it. But in the details the game falls apart. Its buggy as hell. The breadcrumb trail to missions is often drunk and breaks super easily. I've had bosses glitch out and just stand there till I delete them. Enemies will fall through the world, or get stuck behind terrain, or just not load in any AI behaviors and stand by their spawn doors. This can be SUPER annoying when you have to kill enemies to progress, maybe half the time this ends with you hunting for the one bad guy whose AI broke. One specific propaganda tower (side mission type) cant be completed for me because it gets stuck at 75%. Maybe an enemy is breaking, maybe the quest. I've had missions not play story audio. Sometimes things just happen and I have to ask 'is this intended behavior, am I not getting the puzzle, or is the game just broken.' And usually its about 1/3rd to each, which is too much. But when it works, boy it works. The combat can be very tactical. The combination of abilities, grenades, and gunplay can be quite satisfying. When the music hits, youre bouncing around the arena, and everything is working right, the game is a solid 9/10. Beyond this the game is just, IDK, pointless. There hasn't been a lot of change in the BL formula in the last decade, and its really starting to strain against core design limitations. On my current char I have $100m space bucks. Because I can't spend it, because vendor loot is 99% useless. I only spend cash when I die. But if I don't need money why I am picking up any loot at any point? The only loot that matters *at all* is the loot that makes your numbers bigger. Thats bad when the selling feature is 'lots of guns to loot.' Past the starter quests, 90% of loot I get is not at all useful for my class. But not only is loot a core selling feature, getting a spin on the loot wheel is the primary reward to any activity. And its kinda pointless. Even worse, unlike in most FPS where you get a feel for guns, you are getting so much loot and swapping so often you keep a good gun for, maybe, 20 min before you drop it for a new gun with a bigger number. Do you hate the new fire mode (like the Order charge rifles, which are horrid)? Too bad! Does it not jive with your build? Maybe the next will! Who cares! None of it matters. Just make the number bigger. Nothing is permanent, nothing matters, nothing sticks with you. What the game needs is the freedom for me to rebuild my own guns, but they cant do this because the battlepass is selling you premium legendaries and anyway modifying anything serious with your guns just further breaks the loot wheel. So, like, what exactly is the point of all this? Oh and the class skill tooltips are badly written to the point that its impossible to know how to build characters. What does "+6% kill skill effectiveness" actually mean? Who knows, BL doesnt seem to. Worse still, the shooting controls are horrid on a controller. This was a problem Halo 1 solved in 2001, but here IDK whats off but its one of the worst feeling shooters I've played in a decade and no amount of settings changes seem to fix that. Because shooting feels so bad, you really just want to spray and pray from the hip. What, you keep getting purple sniper rifles? Thankfully the story is ALSO bad. Or, flat, more specifically. Because of how poorly the Twins in BL3 were received, every character in BL4 is now very safe, generic, and flat. Personality and edges were sanded down, and the game is just a wet fart in terms of content. There are cool moments, nice set pieces, hype moments, but it never goes anywhere or does anything with it. Gearbox and do some cool DBZ style action direction, but like the gun wheel you just see it and move on. The side content varies from bizarre and surreal to sad, experimental, existential, etc. Some of that content, like 'The Boss' storyline where you help a gangster get his, is pretty fun. All of this is cut out at the knees with some really aggressive millennial toilet humor. If youve never played BL, its Marvel humor with more cursing and poop jokes. And if you hated it in BL3, its still here in BL4. Is it funny when I shoot the ripper and they shout 'agh, hamburgers!'? Sometimes, but there is so much of it that doesnt land. So do I recommend BL4? No. If you havn't beaten BL3 I don't think BL4 is worth playing, not because you MUST KNOW THE STORY, but because BL3 is more stable, the same gameplay, and you can get way cheaper. There is nothing in BL4 that matters, or is worth caring about, outside of the combat balance & class building. Which is either the same or better in the older, cheaper titles. The sole use case for this game, IMHO, is you want a good coop game with a buddy. I have put a ton of time into this so far, but most nights I end up feeling like I'd rather have played Darktide or some other coop experience.
Honestly, open world took some adjusting. But overall a very fun game, if you've played since BL1 I do think you will find enjoyable aspects of this game.
Das Spiel ist der Grund, warum ich 1000 stunden in Bl2 hab.
I bought the game. I then realised the other half of the game is locked behind DLC. Borderlands 4 is the epitome of publisher greed.
