I’ve been following this game since its first demo. It’s an interesting concept, and it’s executed quite well here. Obviously, it still needs some work, as expected for an Early Access title, but for a solo-developed project that’s come this far, it’s honestly pretty solid. Here’s what I like and don’t like: Pros: *Visuals are obviously great *Sound design is excellent *Gameplay feels decent overall *Very scary atmosphere *Environments are fairly interactive *Fully replayable, with items carrying over between chapters *Sandbox-heavy *Not overly scripted *Has strong potential Cons: *Can be confusing at times, even with explanations *The chapter ends abruptly, lacking a satisfying conclusion *Difficulty spikes feel unbalanced *Still a bit short for my taste *Movement feels clunky *Occasional bugs and inconsistent FPS Overall: It’s an experience worth investing in, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here.
Don’t listen to the negative reviews. If you enjoy a solid survival horror experience with unique mechanics, this game delivers, especially for a solo-developed project. It’s already better than most early-access horror titles out there. The developer has been extremely active in fixing issues and improving the game in just the one week its been out, and I’m excited to see what future content brings. We need more horror games that evolve and expand over time like this one, but some knee-jerk reviewers make it harder for devs to take risks. It’s genuinely scary and absolutely worth trying.
Epic game. Sharted my pants multiple times. So boney
I appreciate the quick fix for the HDR issue! Especially with being a solo dev.
Just beat the game. A spooky realistic horror game where you explore a beautiful immersive house and solve puzzles while explore the magnficient interior and solve mysteries. A phenomenal game 10/10
Sad to experience another game that had a promising beta/demo but rushed release.
Maybe it was me, which I admit, I'm not the best at these types of games. However, the title seems relatively docile with an over-reliance on jumpscare insta-kills. The flashlight is far too dim and the blacklight flashing mechanic grows old quick. The game does have a great atmosphere similar to PT, even with inspirations from other body cam titles. But it unfortunately is mostly flash with no real substance. 4/10
Not what I expected after having played the demo originally which I would say I enjoyed more than this, the initial use of the flash jump scare was alright but soon fizzled out, a lot of random ambient sounds in the back, didn't care for the ambience indicating the tormentor, would have preferred a quieter house and more subtle sounds from the tormentor instead, it feels like a paranormal loot extract with a hideout that looks like a kids room, I didn't use any of the lockers to hide in, and the items are a little clunky. This is early access though as stated and that's alright, I see the vision, I'm just feeling the vison at this time, will check again later.
Enjoyed the experience. Is the end of the demo after you get the usb hard drive and leave the house? There wasn't really an "End of early access" Screen. Also, the constant white noise tv sound when inside the estate can get a bit annoying.
Bonefield looks quite good for an indie title — visually atmospheric, dark, and well-styled. Unfortunately, the gameplay falls apart fast. You’re running through a dark house armed mainly with a blacklight pulse you can trigger every few seconds. The catch: you can only see the Tormentor (the game’s monster) when that pulse is active and it happens to be nearby. Then you can shoot it — once — before it vanishes. But it’s never really dead. After a short cooldown, it’s back again. If your pulse isn’t ready, the creature isn’t within range, or you’ve run out of the ridiculously scarce ammo, you’re dead — and back to square one. After two restarts, I’d had enough. The core concept could’ve been interesting, but the execution turns tense survival into tedious trial and error.
