About

The Soviet era has long faded into history. But its shadows still linger... In the heart of an abandoned scientific facility lies a mysterious anomaly. This place exists outside of time, reason, and logic. You are a scientist, an investigator accustomed to confronting the unexplained. But what awaits you here will turn your world upside down.
This building is an anomaly in itself. Every room challenges your courage and sanity. Lights flicker. Objects shift. Space bends to its own will. But the most terrifying thing isn’t the building — it’s what it knows about you.
Your mission is simple: document the anomalies. But every discovery pulls you closer to the truth. What is this place? Why does it "live"? And most importantly… why does it feel eerily familiar?
40–50 minutes of survival and uncovering the truth.
The anomalies are waiting. Are you ready?

Only the first 5-10 minutes is an anomaly style game. After that it's mazes and jumping over obstacles with no anomaly hunting. The whole game takes about 25 minutes. If you're reading this now, you cannot 100% all the achievements due to the developer locking one behind a 2 week timer that ended in October 2024.
I had hopes that "Soviet Anomaly 7 " will be just a bad anomaly hunting game. It's not. See, the game is trying to be anomaly game, backrooms game, even a platformer - all in the same time. If fails miserably at all those tasks, the same way the socialism failed in Soviet Russia. Ahh, and the developers added achievement that was, well, achievable only for the first two weeks after the game release. So...i refunded this thing Gameplay: https://youtu.be/F332HNUC2GE
Short game that mixes a few genres that don’t always work. You are an anomaly researcher sent to an old apartment complex where odd events have occurred. Your job is to use the elevator to move from floor to floor until you reach the top. But there is a twist. The gameplay doesn’t change from the usual anomaly game. You must remember the default location and compare it to each subsequent floor. If everything appears to be in order, you should press the down button in the elevator. But if an anomaly is discovered, you should go up. Although the elevator will always travel up even when you press down, this indicates that you are making progress. If you make a mistake, you will plummet back to floor zero. The location is modest, with only a hallway and one empty apartment. It is also simple to detect anomalies because they are evident, such as water on the floor or a car in one of the rooms. However, anomalies represent only the first stage. After reaching the top, you are sent to another location with a Soviet theme, where you must navigate a maze and complete a few jumps. Unfortunately, there is a "floor is dangerous" section that requires you to hop on furniture. The first issue is that jumping is utterly unpredictable, and uneven surfaces will simply force you directly into the deadly floor. The other more frustrating aspect is that you will have to restart the entire maze if you die. Fortunately, this is the only challenge, as the remainder of the game is very straightforward. It is also quick to complete, taking less than 30 minutes. Graphics are basic, but there are some clipping issues. Crouching and turning your head allows you to see through walls and doors. This way you can see the craziness that goes into creating a game with unusual architecture and assets. They have no influence on gameplay, so you should be able to finish the game without any issues. Achievements work fine, and most of them can be found within one minute. The new secret "lunar" achievement caused some issues because you have to repeat the step several times to unlock it.
This game really stood out to me for its unique combination of a Soviet atmosphere and liminal space aesthetics. The stark, brutalist architecture and deserted public spaces evoke a nostalgic yet eerie feeling. The sense of being in unsettling, in-between places—like empty corridors — adds to the tension, making the world feel both familiar and strange. It's a haunting yet captivating experience that immerses you in a surreal Soviet-inspired world.
This game has been significantly improved since my original review. Level 2 is no longer buggy, and is now level 3. Controls are much better. The new level 2 is actually level 0 from the backrooms, which is super awesome. There's a new outdoor level also. Many new achievements added. Not sure if they're all actually obtainable yet (as of 2025-April-23). Voice acting and some of the dialogue is a bit odd, but that's not really new and is not unique to this game, so it's not a big deal. I recommend this game even more now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Original review: A little buggy, nothing too bad though. Got a bit annoying with the platforming part in level 2, but it was still manageable. This game has a few levels, and only the first one is anomaly hunting, just a heads up if that's an issue for you. I think this is well worth the price and do recommend it.
Soviet Anomaly 7 is a very artistic game. It starts out as an anomaly finding game and turns into a parkour / exploration / psychological horror game. It is definitely interesting, albeit very short. The developer is working adding more to the game. It will be fun to play again with more content.
Проходив як Happy Wolf і насолоджувався нектаром ревасика
